Eagle Cranks

Has anyone run the Eagle stroker crank and more importantly have any Eagles broke in a 2.3L application?

Pretty sure a stock but he also doesn't run a 2.3L stroker which is where most of the cranks seem to be breaking on.

Did you break yours? I've always wondered if yours was holding up ok to that ITS t66 a while back? Is that the turbo you put up for sale recently?

No the turbo I sold was bigger then a T66, and the stock crank hasn't failed me at over 735Whp at the track and 800+Whp on the street. I'm looking for insurance because my plan is to turn up the wick this year.

oh I WILL be... What, did you think that I just bought it just to say that I have a 1500hp rated crank? -although that does have a nice ring to it

I'll be dialing my newest ~500hp setup in the next few months or so (installing an FP Green, DSMLink, and probably larger injectors for that) then by next summer it should be time to (as you say) turn up the wick and see what this Eagle crank can do.

500Hp isn't much of a test though when the stock one support much more than that?

I'm also running one in my stroker though im not making anywhere near 800hp. I've got about 1800 miles on it so far. Personally i went with it because i was dead set on using a brand new crank for the motor and i got it for 40 bux less than the new mitsu cranks i could find.

I couldn't have said it better myself man Although I have had a bad experience with a micro polished (not turned) OEM Mitsu 64 crank in my old 2.3L stroker setup... Died in less then 4k: ALL bearings were shot due to an out of round, used Mitsu crank. Despite having that motor built by a "reputable shop" that ensured me that everything was properly balanced and blueprinted after being cryo-treated... But that's another story.
This time, I actually got the block AND crank that I wanted originally (a true 4g64 & an Eagle crank) in hopes of not suffering the same fate of the old 2.3L.

Well, I am currently running a 7-bolt "butchered" 2.4 Mitsu crank, and have had the crank jump-roping on me so far over 30K miles and 3 race seasons.

My winter buildup will be running an Eagle crank, Groden rods and either Ross or Mahle ceramic coated pistons. I will definitely be staying 7-bolt.

I haven't heard of any Eagle cranks breaking yet, as well, I have seen very few mitsu cranks actually snapping. I am more worried about my rods -- Eagle -- as I am currently around 1050-1100HP at the crank. Yay.

For the price of the Eagle crank, it is personally a good purchase and good insurance. I would likely still cryo-treat it along with the bearings. But that is my opinion.
