I was going to organize an cruise for the AZ DSM guys. So far the plan is to leave Phoenix at around 8:00 AM on Saturday Sep 8th, drive up to Jerome, hit up Prescott and have lunch, then drive back.

I have already posted this on our Yahoo board and it seems like a good amount of people are interested. I hope we get a good turnout so we can see these cars actually move around instead of just hanging out in a parking lot. ROFL
 
Good idea. I'm gonna be moving out to Avondale on the 1st and really wanted to get together with a bunch of people. I would definitely be wanting to go. Then I won't have to wait till the 14th to meet up at the In-N-Out meet.

September 8th, 2007. First Annual Quartzsite Rally in Quartzsite, AZ. I'll be working the rally that weekend. If you guys end up out near Quartzsite in the middle of the day, there will be some rally cars right off the I-10 at the service park.
 
If my car is fixed up by then I will totally be down. just gotta deal with the damn dreaded ignition coilpack problem. I will let ya guys know if I can make it out.

I might have to make a change to the date of this cruise. It seems that a few people are not going to be able to make it on the current date so I was thinking, in the interest of decent attendance, about moving it back a week to Sep 15th.

What do you guys think?
 
I'd be down for whatever. I just wanna get together and meet some new people when i move out there. The In-N-Out meet is on the 13th at the Chandler In-N-Out right? But yeah, i definitely am interested and if we can get my g/f's timing belt done before then we'll will take my gsx and her tsi awd.
 
All right guys this is a little over a week away. I forgot to update this thread, but we are still doing it on Sep 8th. This weekend I will find a place for all of us to meet up in Phoenix.

We will be leaving at 8:00 AM SHARP!! This means driving out of Phoenix, not just pulling into the parking lot to bullshit. This will ensure that we have enough time to make the whole trip and for any unforseen events. :thumb: Also, make sure to bring fully charged video and picture cameras. With enough footage we should be able to get a little AZ DSM video.

Hopefully we get a good turn out for this.
 
OK so I found a spot to meet up, so here are the plans for this weekend.

We will meet up at a McDonalds off the 17 and Deer Valley Rd. It is on the east side of the 17 and the south side of Deer Valley. As with any McDonalds it is easy to find.

I will be at McDonalds at 7:00 AM and will be eating and haging out until about 8:00 AM. If we are good to go at 8 then we will leave. If we have to wait for a few people then we will only wait until about 8:15, then you must catch up. I will have about 20 maps printed with directions from Map Quest to give out incase people fall behind or get lost.

As always make sure to bring tools, some extra parts, cameras, and a good attitude.
 
So how did this thing turn out. I haven't had internet until today since last friday so i didn't realize it was still on for today otherwise i definitely would have been there. Let me know when the next one is and i will be there for sure. Is the In-N-Out meet still on the 13th in Chandler? And if so, can someone give me directions on how to get there from Goodyear?
 
Here are a few pics from the cruise. Preety good turn out car wise. Not to many DSM's but everyone was a DSM owner at point so no big deal. After driving the car REALLY hard all day long the only casualty seems to a coolant line on my Talon, but it didn't happen until I was almost home.

Of course the best part of the trip for me. This could have been a 400.00 ticket for going over 80 but the cop let me of with a waisting gas ticket.

thats awsome...is there goin to be more in the future...im down for others...ill keep the stock 1.8l in my car and go...but im in the process of my new engine...sry bout askin with out sayin hi...im new to this...i see most of u are in pheonix...im down in tucson...hope to meet some of you sometime....

Yeah we will have more in the future. I am not sure of the route as of now, but we will have more for sure.
 
Alpine!!!! I'll see if I can find the route info off whatever board I found it on.

After a year and some months of not driving it, I felt it was time to take it out for a little spin. And what a little spin it was. Good times, you missed out Chris.
