Scottsdale Pavilions bans imports (again)

Last night, a couple DSM buddies of mine were told to move their cars outside the designated show area as the Pavilions car show is domestics only. Exotic imports are allowed, but it appears the high school kiddies have ruined it again and this time it's likely for good.

If that is the case, where is the Ghettosmurf to put together another large scale sport compact meet? We could probably use one someplace conspicuous on a Saturday evening sometime mid-April, imo.

Just thought I would throw it out there for the az|dsm crew.

I can still go. Eagle baby. Haha, screw it. That show is usually full of dweebs anyway. The 240 ghettosmurf bought from my room mate, (turbo-KA), my room mate painted the valve cover black, 9-10 kids asked if it was a sr20, or theyd ask him how much he got his blacktop for.

Oh well, we should have a meet somewhere, try to make it as big as some of the BBQs, that would be sweet if it was weekly.

Doesn't really affect me as I don't park in the actual show, nor do I care to. I guess we will see if it actualy makes it nicer that it has been in the last few years.

I'm down for this. I need to check the list more often, as it seems to me that INO is still running on Thursday nights? No way I want to leave south Scottsdale, drive all the way up to 19th Ave and the 101, only to turn around and go all the way back to INO on a Thursday night.

Makes me wonder, are there still PTCs parking at the old Sonic?

What if we came up with bi-weekly INO meets, but have one on the east side and one at the west side. I've met up with a couple of the west siders at the INO up on Bell and the 101, and there's plenty of parking there. I know it's not likely to happen, but how about making the meet on a Saturday night (maybe a Sunday night?) and alternating between the two locations.

I like this idea. That way no one always has to drive across coutry to meet up. They could go to both or just the one that is close.

I like this too. I live in surprise and work in south scottsdale. I want to make it to some meets but don't want to make 2 trips out to the east valley in one day. One trip is bad enough.

We could do something like 1st week of the month in the east valley and 3rd week of the month in the west valley.

Sweet. I didn't expect this kind of response to my off-the-wall idea. Now we just need to spread the word and make sure others want to give this a try, too. I'll post it up on az2gnt. With the Pavs out of the picture, I'm sure there will be more guys wanting to get together.

Pavs was cool and all, but i did get kinda tired of all the partypoopers myself. Civics and J-body's, and even some DSMs too, kids acting immature.

I dont think I am alone here, but nothing irritates people more than someone who is flaunting their BOV. Its like "wow, we know its turbo, now STFU" Maybe if we get this thing going and it starts getting big enough, we might be able to kinda regulate the atendee's.

I remember one night at the INO meet, there was a 2g GST, kid was talking shit to other DSMers and revvin his engine and doing 1-2 pulls from parking spot to parking spot. I was not alone on the idea that was thrown into the air which involved pulling the kid out of the car by his lower lip and curb stomping him.

Do people still show up at INO on thursdays? The last time I went (last year) there was a whopping ONE car there, so I kind of stopped going. With my car being almost finished now, I'd like to attend some decent sized meets.

just recently I had kinda switched the INO meet to every 2nd thursday of the month, 1st try everyone forgot, 2nd try peoples cars were broken and there was a BonJovi concert....ahem. I think everyone agreed that weekly was becomming too often, peoples setups werent changing, etc, things got boring. Bi-weekly sounds like it would work, cause once a month is kinda stretching it now, my ADD is overtaking me.

Is the next one tomorrow night? Or are we talking about just doing them on the second Thursday? If it's on tomorrow night, I'll hose off the bi*** tonight and see about making it out tomorrow evening. I've got some stuff I need to pick up in Chandler, anyways.

I was assuming it would still be the 2nd Thursday, but perhaps we could change it to tomorrow and then let it continue from that point.

We shoud post this on Southwest DSM as well to try and get some more people to show. Who is up for it?
