Alright guys, I'm starting this thread to gather a list, or make a plan for everyone in the region who would be interested in attending the Battle of the Imports Event @ MIR on June 27-28. That's a Friday and Saturday in Mechanicsville, MD.
For complete details of the event click on the following:

The event is going to be huge, and we are looking at a DSM Meet that will be on a national scale. As many of you probably know, Jake Montgomery from the North West Region is looking to run his Evil-Eagle out there, and break some serious gasoline records.
Local Lodging is available. I have taken the liberty of pulling up a link from Hotels.com. I'm sure there are more resources than this, but just to give everyone the basic idea.

Travel is another critical area of planning that we MUST carefully plan.
Organizing this type of event is not easy. Everyone here is going to travel at their own risk and liability. We can either create a central location in which a majority of us can meet, or make another suitable decision. Any way we approach this, we ALL have to be on the same page. Most of us don't know each other very well personally, so don't EXPECT what you don't INSPECT. If your car can't make it guys, DON'T TAKE IT. Let's car pool, meet together, and plan accordingly.
Our best chance of success will take careful planning. This is a long trip guys, but well within one day's travel. Most of the people I've talked to have agreed thay leaving EARLY Thursday morning, and checking in by dark, (thursday night) would be the best course of action. This will give us plenty of time for safe travel, and sufficient time to deal with minor problems, ect.
Here is a link to yahoo maps. This will give you guys an idea on travel. Map is set from Columbia, SC:

When you go or leave is completly up to you, or your group. Any groups in the area looking to make a run up there, post it up, plan it out. It would be great to see all of us come togther on this, and make it an enjoyable time for everyone.
Use my post as a general guidline to get this started. From here, we can coordinate meets, lodging, travel and everything we want to do. Also, if anyone is looking to run in the contest, post it up and we'll do our best to show support for a fellow South- East DSM'er! Just as we all did for Jake!
Good Luck guys, updates will be posted as they come!
