Hey everyone. I will be moving with my girlfriend in late fall to irvine cali. I heard cali laws for inspection are rough? I not sure but like to bring my eclipse with me. Not sure if I should sell it and start over later on. I have no emissions everything is removed. I can throw a cat on the car but not sure how strict cali is. Any info would be awesome. Cant wait to move out there. Selling all my left over parts and other things now before moving.

Just put your Cat back on an don't drive like crazy. There are people out here that can help you out with smog stuff

I dont drive crazy dont really drive the car when it has only 65k orginal miles on it and its a 96:thumb: Just for cruises or car meets. Sounds good. Ill build a new downpipe with a high flow cat and call it a day. Might convert the car to awd before I head out there.

Yeah I know but my girl is going to school there and she has to become and resident and if I am there for more than 11 days I need to also. I was like that seems wierd.

Like Morales92 said people can help you out on smog if you register the car here, but if you have family/friends staying in your home state there are ways to keep your car registered there. Not sure of the details, but I've seen plenty of people doing it for years. I think California is one of the strictest states on emissions, but people make it sound a lot worse than it really is.. 99% of the time, you won't get pulled over as long as you drive chill. Also, with what sounds like such a clean DSM, I would definitely hang onto it and find a way to slip it under the radar!
