I'm looking to get my 6 bolt 4G64 honed, decked and hot tanked pretty soon. Anyone know of any good shops in or near Orange County?

Didn't know the 4g64 was ever made in a 6 bolt, g4cs is the 6 bolt, 4g64 is the 7 bolt variety.

Nope, this is a 4G64 6 bolt. They made them for a couple years. Pretty rare though.
Came in the 1992 Summit Wagons, Colt Vistas and Expos.

Not personally, no. My LADSM friends recommend them and trust their work, though.

I've had some work done by the taylor shop (non-dsm) & know others who have with great results.

Also heard these guys do good work Costa Mesa R&D

I tried Taylors a while ago apon recommendation from a friend, and i was VERY disappointed with them

steer clear.

ive done 20 plus DSMs, VR4s and Toyota's and Nissans with Steves auto import machine in Azusa, Ca over the last 3 yrs with no issues what so ever.

very reasonable, usually one week turn around time (urgent jobs possible)
the dont have a hot tank, but thats over rated.

If you dont want to drive up there, you could drop your stuff off at my shop in Santa Fe springs, and ill swing it over with some of our stuff.

I have used these guys in my head rebuild and happy with it. The only thing is its a drive for me.

i asked them to do some very simple oil system mods on a 440 mopar, and they did a very half assed job on that, and they installed cam bearings in the engine and didnt finish that job properly either, which in the end i had to go to another shop and have every corrected.

IMO these were no brainer mods/jobs and i was astounded by the lack of expertise.
