RRE quoted me quite a bit more than good domestic shops. The only problem with the domestic shops is that they don't have a torque plate for the 4g63. Do you guys know of a GOOD shop that does 4g63 work?

_Definitely_ give Chai at C&A Auto a call. He's done some work for me and friends, he's awesome and cheap and fast. He worked for :dsm: for something like 10 years, and has 3 DSMs of his own including a Galant VR4.

most alleged "good" import shops dont have torque plates either!

I didnt use one and never have, so I dont know how good it might be.

I dont think I would be able to tell the difference if i would have!

that being said, take your engine to the best place you can afford. and get your car back on the road asap!

I use Pro machine in Placentia, John Beck is one of the best and very reasonable!

He sublets the rotating assemblies to Castillo cranks, again one of the best in the biZ.

Theres also millenium Motorsports out in Temecula. I know alot of the san diego people out there use them.

Try Valley Machine in Huntington Beach. Its across the street from FRY's on the 405. I used to manage GT Motorports in Rancho and had my block bored and honed in their million dollar machine shop. Instead of smooth strokes with the hone, they left it in one place for too long which resulted in barrel shaped and tapered bore's. I figured it out while fitting the pistons and Valley fixed it right up. I was soo pleased that I gave him my spare head to work on.
Just goes to show that great machines don't always mean great work.
