Call me crazy but I am nearly sold on the idea of this topic that popped up in my shop today.
I was talking to a guy in my shop today that has a 94' Z28 that is centrifigally supercharged. He asked if I had ever run "race gas" and that he was doing some research on a "home brewed race octane booster." He said with just over a gallon of this stuff added to 4 gallons of 98 octane that we have at the pump here, that it was supposed to be close to 110 octane!!!!
I have read many magazine articles that claim octane booster in store bought cans only raise actual octane .3-.7 points. I am including the link to this research so you can give opinions. I believe it is possible since the ingredients are already ingredients in regular gasoline. reply and tell me what you think.
heres the links:

Hope this is of help I know I AM going to try it out, will let you know of my results.

they are ~$10 for 1 gallon cans
ine has additives to keep valves lubed, which makes up for lead. Will the reduction still be ok? I dunno, I'm no engine guru.
