I'd do fine tuning via datalogging. The gauge type display is nice to have to keep an eye on things the rest of the time.

I'm sure its alot more convenient to mount and all, but a bit to ricey for my taste with the bling light display. Not to mention its 200 bucks sold separately :( I'll stick to the classic LED display I already have. I'm sure it will sell good though. What I am curious to know is if the readout is quicker.

The led bar graph may be quicker responding than the digital readout.

I mean the digital readout on either this or the standard display. It takes less time to process a reading and create a led bar graph than to display the value in numbers.

Nice, I like the fact that it matches up well with gauges people are likely to already have (AutoMeter Phantom and Sport-Comp). That said, I like AEM's UEGO if we're going purely by looks alone:

Yes like this but these have no disco lights

It probably just uses signal processing to create a seperate real time narrow band style output to feed to a standard gauge.. Or they had gauges made just for wide band voltage range. Cool none the less.

Horsepower Freaks has it listed as $621.88 retail, and a sale price of $472.63, but apparently they have a lower price on it right now that you'd need to call in for. As far as I can tell, noone actually has the unit yet; it's all pre-orders.

Nice price compared to the FJO, and since it's really just a new form-factor of their existing UEGO kit, you shouldn't be playing the AEM 'guinea pig' game (like early EMS adopters did). ;)

Yeah I called my AEM distributor a few days ago about this and he told me that they have ordered theirs and to expect them around the end of January.

ThatPLX M-300 kit looks golden for only $314 shipped at BNE Customs

They also have a thing that converts the Autometer disco light guage to a wideband guage. All you need is an Oxygen Sensor. Too bad there aren't any numbers on the guage.

ill never understand why somebody would buy a wideband 02, but use a stupid data logger working off of stock sensors to tune their car...

most people that use a logger only use rpm knock and timing to base correction values.

My main concern about the PLX M-300 sensor is when you connect the analog out to the stock 'feed'. How would DSMLink log the actual wideband values and not the narrowband readings? If DSMLink can read and log the actual wideband readings, then they have me as a customer. What do you guys think?

Maybe I don't understand the system quite right, but what does the stock or DSMLink system have to do with it? Isn't it just an O2 sensor and a computer/display so that all you need is a power source?

Also, what do you guys think of the Autometer disco light guage converted to a realtime wideband guage with just the addition of a $40 computer box and a $65 O2 sensor?

The main thing I want to do with the wideband is log the data values with my computer through the DSMLink. I want to compare my RPM vs A/F ratio. I mean, what good is a wideband if you have to rely on your memory on what specific reading you got at a certain RPM in order to tune your car?

I didn't know people still go for bling factor when it comes to tuning tools. How does the display unit look like, it's not on their website.

I don't appreciate bling tuning tools any more than you do. I advocated the PLX M-300 not only because it's cheaper than most, but its display is easily mounted like a turbo timer. The innovate model is about the size of but a lot thicker than a palm pilot; where would you mount that without it being awkward and in the way?

I have the LM-1, I sure don't carry it around with me every day. When I tune, I clip a spark plug wire, put the sensor in the exhaust and make a run. I then d/l the data and have a look. Not that tough. Once I am done, take it out and that is that.

Even if the unit is small, I wouldn't keep it in the car all the time. I really couldn't be bothered to make sure the system is working.. if you don't you lose a WB sensor.
