I read that the S-AFC can cure lumpy idle associated w/ open atmosphere venting BoVs.. I was wondering if anyone else knew anything about this. A friend of mine told me to get the boost controller APEX'i because it can control Air/Fuel also.. Anyone w/ some input for me would be appreciated..thanks.

Either I have to get an SAFC, or a new recirculating BoV (have the RFL) ..

The S-AFC (1 or 2) is the controller that helps control your fuel to air ratio. It does not help control boost at all. That controller is called an APEXi AVC-R. They are 2 different things. You also do not need a one to control the other. I have a S-AFC II to help with my fuel and a Manual Boost Controller.

I have heard that people use these to help out, but it is not a sollution.

One thing I am sure you will hear is to not VENT your BOV. I also suggest you not do this aswell. The Greddy Type-S vents loud enough for everyone to hear with the recirculated tube hooked up. Venting doesn't exactly mean Horse Power.

i have a vented to atmospher ssbov and it works better that anything else you will not have a problem if you cap off the recirculation tube. and if you do have a problem the safc2 will cure that problem

why would anyone not wanna recirculate their bov? You do know that the air it spits back into the intake keeps the turbo going which means faster spool up, which therefore means faster car. Not recirc= not having that advantage and rice. Dont get me wrong itll sound much better but dont you want a better running car, faster car and less to worry about when it comes to tuning...not to mention less money spent on gm maf. But if you have the money get a gm maf, and no safc wont make it so you can vent to the atmosphere.

NO it does not spool your turbo faster. I have done my setup with and without the recirculation fitting and there is no more lag venting. Why is it rice? There are tons of stock cars out there that make the pssshhtt sound and they are not rice. Like I said in another post. People who don't have personal experience or numbers to back up thier claims should not comment on this topic.

Your right about one thing though, the AFC will NOT compensate for venting IF you have problems. That is why I always tell people to get a BOV that can be recirculated if venting fails. THat way you can recirculate if you fail.
