I've been wanting to paint my 1G head light housings black for quit some time now. But just havnt got around to it. I will do it soon tho. When I do it I plan on getting some nice white/blue foglights, since I heard that it will dim the lighting of the head lights. I think it will look really cool. If some one can find the pics of the guy who did it do his 1G that would be greatly appreciated.

Really. Maybe this weekend I'll do it. Im also going to re-paint my rims a high gloss black w/ pollished lip. The graphite and silver dont look very good to me anymore.

Alright I am going to do it on Friday. As of right now I am re-painting my rims gloss black with pollished lip. So around Saturday or so I should have pics of my headlights and my wheels.

the paint doesnt really affect the lighting if you paint in the right place. I did mine and the lightning is the same but they look bas ass now.
The picture don t do them justice but anyway.

That looks badass. You did your corners also? Thats even more badass. I have the clear corners. So if I do my corners too, it will look even better!

i painted the exterior side, under it there was some silver gray paint that i sanded and painted it black instead. I only painted between the housing like between the high beam and the flasher so the place where light reflect the most would not be hurt. I also painted the plastic housing behind the reflective plastic so it give a very dark look if you look closely. I also paintend the corner to continue the black look. If you take apart the corner you will see that the place where the yellow bulb goes is isolated from the rest so you can paint almost all of the corner and it wont affect the lighting. If i have the time i will do a how to and what to paint for the corner and the headlight if i can.

Sorry i don t have pictures of them on the car because i dont have a digital camera and my car is stored in pieces in my garage for the winter . :( Have to to continue my winter project :D

im currently in the process of this, i'll go take pics of the headlight apart so you can see what i painted, pics coming very soon.....

how would u think it would look in another color or would it lose its whole kickass look effect, cuz i was thinking red... to match my color scheme on my car... not sure yet

edit-

also, my friend bought black outs for his accord, very very nice but i noticed how the plastic cover over the head light of his was like crystal clear unlike the stock one on the dsm which has those little squares and such. i was wondering if there are replacment covers.

and finally, the peice between the highbeam and signal, this is the side of the piece closest to the highbeam

i didnt painted the interior bottom of the lense like you did turboblue because i was afraid that it would look like crap if you looked close to the lense and you would lose some brighthness with the low refletive proprety of the paint. Just take it back when your finish and post picture. Id like to see someone else who have done it another way to see the end result. Who know it may look better than mine ;)

You painted the entire interior of the corner? hmm me in just painted the part around the big block under the yellowish plastic so it wont loose brightness.
my 2 cent.

i placed mine together, and they didint look as good as yours.....you must have painted some of the reflective housing?

Yeah you re right! i painted some of the reflective part but only the one i thought wouldnt affect the brightness. I painted all of the edge of the housing...i mean the flasher, between the light and the little edge at the end near the corner. I painted the little triangle on top of the housing between the high and low beam and also painted like 1 inch on each side but with an angle so it wouldnt affect much and still make a cool look. it hard to explain but if i have the time i will post pics so you can do it too the same way if you want to. I used tremclad gloss black paint. It gives a good looking finish. and i didnt paint the interior of the lense jsut the exterior. Just sand the silver-gray paint under it until it become clear than tape the light and paint it all black following the same dimension as the older paint had. here a couple other pics.

I did mine over the weekend. I only painted the chrome housing. I painted the outside, lower, top, and sides of the housing. But I left the very back the reflective chrome so it still has its purpose and use for light. I didnt take any pics yet, but when I do it will be on the car pics and close ups. But it does look badass!:thumb:
