If you have access to a leak-down tester, do a leak-down test.
Thats the only way i kw of.

You could check the stem height on the closed valves, but it'd be as much work as yanking the head. You can bet for certain that you do have bent ones, though.

get a compression checker gauge tool
you screw into the spark plug holes...
and turn the engine over a cupla times...
if no pressure, you got bent valves
also...get a leak-down tool with an adapter valve for an air hose off an air tank-compresspor...screw it into the spark plug hole..then plug the air hose onto the end....take the intake system off, if you feel air coming out of the TB...you got some bent intake valves...take off ur oil filler cap, you got air coming out of there...you got busted rings, or a blown piston with a hole in it...at last, pump air into the cylinder and go feel the end of the muffler...if any air is coming out, you have bent exhuast valves...
if all else fails, take off the head...take a 90degree angle square and se if all the valve springs are at the same heighth if not...turn the head over and dump some solvent into the compresion chamber where the valves open and close....if any comes out of the exhuast ports or intake ports...and doesnt stay in the chamber, you got bent valves...
but thats prety much it

Just remember to put a new timing belt on before you try this!! I'd say you'll need to pull the head off...inspect the pistons closely too....keep in mind that when they hit the valves they're likely to get chipped, also. Then those chips can scrape up and down the cyl walls while the engines coming to a halt causing enough damage to have to disassemble and rehone at a minimum and possibly rebore.

The pistons won't "chip", but they'll dent and sometimes this will swage a bit of aluminum off the crown. It won't be tough enough to harm the bores. Just make sure there are no sharp edges on the dents, round them down with a bit of emery cloth.

Mine chipped, but they were forged.

this is how u check it basicly look at ur cam gears and theres 2 little half circles (where on mine) and if there not lined up most likely there bent or at least 1, if there lined up on cam gears put a timeing belt on and see if it runs
