OK i just installed my big16g with 34mmflapper and a VP o2 dump. I took it for a test drive and it creeps. I dont have any fuel mods yet at all so I didnt get on it really hard but it hit 16psi and I let off. WHat the hell could this be? I have no idea what it could be at all. thanks a lot for any help at all.

P.S where can I get a plug for the stock oil feed line? I tried to plug it with JBweld but that does not work at all. my car is without any oil sitting in a parking lot? I dont think there is any engine damage at all as soon as the oil light flickered I shut it of:confused: just need to fix the damn creep and get a plug

I already answered this in the other thread you hijacked (why?).

You should be able to get a regular bolt with the right thread, and then use one of the crush washers to seal it up right.

So, yeah, if you go to the other thread you can get an answer, I didn't realize you had posted this 3982572 times.

As far as teh creep...all I can say is to try all of the current solutions listed at the VFAQ. I never had the much of a problem with it. What's so wrong with 16 psi on a stock setup? Should be fine as long as you keep it under 18 or 19 on pump gas. Just check your knock level and make sure you are not pushing it too far.

That plug I believe is a 10mm x 1.0 ( i know the one on the front of the head right next to it is. (That's where my oil pressure gauge is tapped in) You can get that plug from the dealer as PNC 01287T Plug and 01279 gasket ring. That is what CAPS says anyway. There was no Mitsu part# listed. You could also check local bolt and hardware/pumbing places. Local hardware stores alone (Home Depot and Lowes) won't have it.

Good luck

Thanks a lot for the help I got the plug at NAPA they have it in stock, no other place had it. So I got the oil problem fixed now just to fix the creep. I have a 2g with stock fuel system is 16psi really ok on a big16? I am going to order a 190 walbro in the next week.

Look at my mods in my profile...I still get MAD CREEP! The only way to cure it in my case is to go external.

I'm in the same boat, but I have a t-28. I'm going to port my manifold this weekend. If that doesn't work than I'm going to go external also

The wastegate hole is ported but the inlet is not? Im not sure what to do. I guess get a fuel pump, so im a little safer. Ill take you for a ride Sherman.

porting your manifold will decrease spool up time, its not a cure for boost creep.

that's what I thought too, but a couple of members told me otherwise. They have comparable turbos with no creep so I figured I'd give it a shot.

Well this might sound kinda weird but the creep is gone now?......LOL still creeps a little in 2nd but 3rd 4th and 5th even seem to hold about 11.5 PSI just fine. Mabe since the turbo is brand spankin new it needed a little time for the wastegate to break in? OMG it pulls so much harder than my Crap T-25 I love it. The power is so smooth.

Can you explain this scientifically? I bet you can't, because manifold porting has nothing to do with boost creep.

Creep is caused by insufficient wastegate flow, or more accurately, too much pressure differential over the turbine. If anything, I think porting the mani would increase creep a tad.

dude, I said in my post that I didn't think it would work. If I could explain it scientifically then I wouldn't be asking the question. I'm only doing it because:

A.) people with the same mods and comparable turbos have done it and have no creep.

B.) I have an EGT gauge coming this week so the manifold will be off the car anyway. Might as well get it done, It's creeping anyway.

I have an idea of how creep works. I'm not going to say I know exactly, but I understand the basics.

maybe you guys with high amounts of boost creep should dish out the extra dough and get an electronic boost controller.

If that is the case... why do I still get boost creep with my boost controller taken of the car. Dont waste the money on something you dont need.

My question too......I wouldn't consider 16 psi to be creep. Now if you were say at 21 or higher, then ya you should be worried....oh, and just as a heads up, a month ago, I could not control my boost what so ever. On my B16G, I was in the mid 20s....and that wasn't even at WOT. I thought my wg was shot, come to fine out the hose from the lower ic pipe to my mbc had holes all through it. OMG

This will control spike, not creep. Ryan is right on the money...pony up 200 bucks and go external. My creep led me to an external AND a new 20g (figured it was pointless to go external on a 16g, so I just upgraded) which I still have to install.

How did you have your exhaust housing ported? I took mine up to AMS in IL and they just ported the bottom of the wg hole and completely took that space between the two holes out. Im gonna install it tonight. Ill tell you how it goes.
