Alright i have decided for my first mod i am going to get guages but i am stuck between which ones i want to get. I'm not really worried about the cost difference between these two guages i just wanted to see what people had to say about them. I like the lunar guages most out of the two but i havent been able to find an EGT guage that was in the lunar series. The reason i dont like the ultralite guages is because they dont have the indiglo effect. If someone has found a site that sells the EGT lunar guage than that will seal the deal. Just in case your wondering im getting, Boost, Oil pressure, and EGT.

There is really no performance difference between the two. It's mainly just the looks. Also Autometer calls their EGT gauges, pyrometer gauges.

So choose the one that looks better. Their cobalt gauges look very nice :)

i have the phantom gauges. they looks nice. a white face with a black ring. to me it looks better in a pod then the ones with silver rings.

Get Phantoms. White face with a black ring and they look really pretty in a black gauge pod.

Buy some blue HID bulbs for your Phantoms and they look really pretty :)

Btw the statement about Autometer calling there EGT's Pyrometer is not totally true. Autometer does sell EGT gauges that say "Exhaust" on the face plate. These gauges come on there own. The ones marked "Pyrometer" come in a kit with the probe.

I went to Lane Automotive and looked at the gauges. I noticed they sell a Autometer Phantom EGT gauge that says "Exhaust" on it for $109.99 that comes with NO probe. You have to buy the probe for an extra $50 bucks. Then they sold the Pyrometer kit that comes with the gauge marked "Pyrometer and the probe for $109.99. They both do the samething so I asked the guy what the diffrence was other the one came with a probe and one didnt. He said um I'm not sure but I would guess that maybe the one marked "Exhaust" and comes with no probe is slightly higher quality but dont quote me on that. I just bought the Pryometer kit.

Later I asked one of my friends who owns a couple DSM's if he knew sence he had the Pryometer kit too. He said that the Exhaust gauge is just for Exhaust temp and the Pyrometer is for anything you wanna get a heat reading from and that I could shove it up my butt if I really wanted to LOL :D

Does anyone have any pictures of thier gauges at night. I have looked at autometer.com and they don't post any pictures of the gauges at night, what do they look like??

Here is an e-mail with all the new lunar gauges that Autometer is making, also to purchase any of them just call or e-mail anyone who already sales Autometer Gauges.

Due to the Lunar's popularity we are already making plans to expand
this series! We do not have a firm list or release date of what new
products we will have and when, but we know that we will be expanding the line within 2003. Lunar gauges will feature a bright white dial and silver bezel when unlit, and a futuristic green glow when lit. Since Auto Meter does not sell factory direct, we suggest purchasing your gauges from your local speed shop, online source or favorite mail order. The best pricing is best obtained from these sources. Again, thank you for your email and interest in Auto Meter Products!.

The lunar series are very nice, I have to Boost and A/F. I liked the way that lit up at night, so I changed my gauge faces to match. If you watch on e-bay you can find the Gauge Faces that glow 6 different colors (you choose color), one color is a perfect match for the lunar series. Here is a link to a current auction, I believe it is the 3rd Color: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1873818627

If I get a chance I will post a pic.
