Edmonton,
Hey guys, i got a pickle for you here!

Just within this past little bit (week or so) my car has been ideling very weird... It sits @ the normal 1000 rpms or so, then surges up to around 1500 then drops down to 500 just about stalling out my car... When the idel goes up, the fan turns on for about 2 seconds, then turns off...

I took it to a machanic he said it "might" be the idel speed motor, so i just replaced it today, hopeing it would clear the problem, nope its still doing it! Im really stumped, and i dont really wanna spend 100 bucks an hour on some machanic trying to figure this out! please post n e info / thoughts u have! thanks alot!

btw: 1995 Eagle talon ESI..
thanks!

oh yea, it only idels weird when im in neturel and 1st gear when the clutch is down.. when the car starts to move its fine.. when im stopped it goes all weird.. :thumbdown

Check your BISS screw? Not sure if this is a good indicator but if you have cruize control take it out on the highway. If it wont stay at a particular speed but instead very up and down a little, it might be the BISS screw. Thats what happened with mine. I believe the BISS screw also has something to do with controling your cruizing speed but i could be wrong.

and where is this BISS screw located.. and what am i doing to it when i find it?

it's on the throttle body, when facing the engine, it'll be facing you. Usually it's hidden under a rubber cap.

hmmm what is the function of this biss screw? do u think thats what's causing the fan to go on and off? or just the idel what was your situation, and what did you do to your screw to fix it?

Any other suggestions i really need to get this shit fixed.. thanks alot!

hey guys now im getting a error code 25 .. witch has something to do with the electrial part of the idel air motor :O

pull the motor and test it. Just unbolt it and hold your thumb over it (gently) while a friend turns the key on and off....does it move smoothly and all the way closed and open?

Then it is a wonder that it even idled at all since you saw no screw in there under the rubber cap on the throttle body...

It has happened to me and maybe to some other people where the BISS screw just up and flew out of there taking the rubber cap with it,..It holds and is how you adjust your idle and does this with an o-ring around the plastic BISS screw,..

If it aint there,.get a BISS screw and o-ring,..You can find an o-ring size at Sears or somewhere and the size on at the vfaq.com under misc or something,..

Hope it is as simple as the biss screw messing up your car, but dont know why you got a CEL light for a biss screw, but you said it was for the ISC huh? And you got a new ISC put in too? Bummers,..

WEll boyz after about 2 hours and 250.00 dollers worth of shit.. we fianlly figured it out!!!!! It wuznt the Idel speed motor, it wuznt the biss screw, it wuznt a leak, is was nothing like that.. It was a freakin' relay!

My dad pop'ed da box where all the fuse's are, and he looked it @.. there were WIRED relays, were it said A/C and A/C Compresser n all that.. well 2 bad my ####en car dosent even have a/c! so he pop'ed it out, and it stopped ideling weird!

Now the funny thing is usually when the car doesnt have a feature they dont wire it in the fuse box, its unwired.. beats me why it was like that!! oh well haha

thanks for your help / patients!! :p
