I just had my tranny die in my 93 fwd Tsi and i found a used one, i was just wondering if there was also a difference btwn the 90-91 and the 92-94 fwd ones as there was with the spline count on the awd ones. Just wanted to make sure before i bought this one.

1990 use different shift cables than the 91-94's, and the 90-92.5's use a different axle than the 92.5-94's. I personally have a 91 tranny in my 94 so I just had to get some custom axles made for me at www.raxles.com I think it ran about $300 for the set.

Like Adam, I blew up my fwd trans too. I have a 91 turbo dsm. What year tranny's will fit into my car? I've been searching and googling and came up confused.

Am I understanding this correctly? With a 91, can I install a 90-94 fwd turbo trans into my car? But if I have a 90 trans in a 91 car, I have to fix the shift linkage? And if I'm running an early 92 thru 94 trans in a 91 car, I have to replace the axles?
