Are the drivetrains and transmissions in 1gs and 2gs interchangeable?

Im guessing the transmissions aren't but what about the drivetrain/transfer case and what not? jw thanks

I know the 90's have a diff spline count and shifter base than the 91 on up cars, I believe that most of them are though.

From what I've been told, the t-cases are swappable between 1G and 2G 23-spline cars, but the transmissions are not due to different gearing ratios. If you put a 1G trans in a 2G or vice-versa, you'll kill your viscous coupling.
