Simple Headlight/bumper trick

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

For initial bumper and headlight removal look at the FMIC installs and bumper conversions.

Once it is off use a drill that is exactly the O.D. of the 10mm head bolt that secures the bottom of the headlight.

Drill the threads out of that hole.

Mount the headlight snug leaving the bottom bolt hole open.

Next use a dab of hq epoxy (optional) to secure a nut to the lower mounting tab of the head light.

Thread the bolt thru from behind so it holds the nut in place.

I say optional because depending on what you did with the plastic cowl around the radiator (removed) you may be able to just sneek a wrench on the nut and hold it still very easily and unscrew from behind

If you use an air ratchet to remove even the wrench probably wont be needed either.

Now if you ever want to pull your headlights w/o pulling the bumper or pull your bumper cover w/o the support bracket you have easy access to that bottom headlight bolt.

It's one of those simple tricks like -86'ing the stud on the turbine housing and using a bolt.

Once the site gets squared away I'll pictoral the write up.
