is it any good? i know kaaz or quafe is better, but for 200 bux.. its a dela if it works half as good as they claim..

how much power it hold? anyone got one?

wow, i must be the only person in the world who has seen it huh?

what about the Phantom Grip one? its a little more expensive but supposidly very good..

ANYBODY!?

I did do a search for "LSD" and there were like 10 ####ing pages of CRAP, almost none of them said much if anything about what i wanted to know...

I have the BMT lsd in my car. And yes, its as good as they say it is. It can handle about as much power as you can through at it. Besides, I think that in a way its better than kaaz or quafe becasue its pretty much always working, but doens't make cornering harder ( you, the popping and such with tight lsd's) and its quiet and you don't have to replace clutchs, and it plain 'ol works. I haven't been able to drive y car much iwth it becasue of a timing belt failure from a crapy install by a local shop. But I did notice that it helped to pull my car out of corners much better than before. Not to mention that if the roads where wet my front end would spin and slide sideways, now I just launch with no slip. I know, I have awd, but they where already rebuilding my tranny so I thought I might as well for the price, I know that even awd can get over powered. I'm not there yet, but will be eventually

You need to do a "proper" search: notice I did "phantom lsd".

And, this may be of interest:

See if I cook a garden trowel into your _next_ prison cake!

Talk to Mike at slowboy, he's been running it on his FWD dsm, and has nothing but good things to say about it!

Where can you buy them at?

bmtranny doesent have a order page, i think you gotta mail them or something..

on a side note, something is clattering in my tranny, dont know what..

car still goes in all gears and would probably drive ok.. but i gotta yank the tranny anyway..

any guesses on mystery noise..

OH btw it goes away when the clutch is pushed all the way in.

call B M tranny and speak to Keith. He's the guy who did my tranny. He knows his shiznit. He should be able to help you with your noise problem and help you order an LSD.

Throwout bearing.

i broke 2 teeth off 2nd gear.. LOL, replaced gear and put in Phanto grip LSD.. WOW, no more tq steer and much much better launches..

now im waiting on some TRE synchros, fidanaza flywheel, and new act clutch to get here..

but if you have FWD, the Phantom Grip (and probably bm tranny aswell) lsd inserts ARE WORTH EVERY PENNY.. no ill ide effects, you would never know its there... except your launch is more predictable, has better grip, and accelerating around turns is better aswell..

(I know its old I used the search)

I am looking for the best REAR LSD for my 98 GSX. Any advice/options?

This LSD and then PHANTOM GRIP are the same fricken thing. The springs they are using are die springs that can be purchased from just about any tool place for just a few dollars.

That being said this type of LSD actaully cost me a tranny and clutch. The until beats and wears on the pin that goes through the center of the unit. Eventually that pin breaks and sails around in the tranny until it "finds" its way out. My pin broke and then got lodged between the final drive gear and the case. The case lost and I ended up with a 4 inch hole in the tranny that dumped all my tranny fluid onto my nice new clutch.

They are cheaper up front but in about 1 year you may be buying an entire tranny.
