friends transmission blew up...the differential in particular. the pin you put down the middle of the insert snapped. when they put it in they noticed that the springs werent 100% tight so if you get one be sure everything is perfect, broken trannies are the suck.

That looks like the Phantom Grip insert, which is just like the one B+M Tranny sells.
That's good info for anyone looking to purchase a diff insert. Just in case anyone is using the search in the future let me put in a few common search phrases so this thread comes up; Phantom Grip, LSD insert, JUNK!

yea im pretty sure it was the phantom grip, if these things are 100% perfect the results are not friendly. the longevity of a perfect one needs to be looked into as well. all springs sag with time.

not just springs but it wears on the gears too since its putitng constant pressure on them

aww great, i probably won't be able to sleep tonight because i just finish putting one in mine. The thing that pisses me off most is the damn car still breaks out in first. I'm not sure if it's one tire or two
