Well, my clutch came in today. I'm going to go take off the flywheel and get that machined, and should have the new clutch on this weekend. Here's a pic of the clutch and my car. I plan on doing a write up on this clutch once it's intstalled and broken in (but I'll put that in Engine Performance). Thought you guys might want to take a look and talk about any of your own recent installs.

This clutch differs from the Clutchmasters. This is sold by EClutchmasters. I've read quite a few good things about it, so I thought I'd try it out. It seems like a happy medium between an ACT 2100 and 2600. This has a 2230 lb pressure plate with a six puck disk. I would have liked to have went with the 2600, but just don't want to take a chance with putting excess pressure on my thrust bearings. Plus I'm FWD so no AWD launches for me, which will make it a little easier on the clutch.

Good Luck with 2600 though.:dsm:

Until the weekend though I believe I'm going to spend some time repainting my UICP and cleaning up my intake.

yeah thats overkill x 3.37219

just get a street clutch.. those 6 puck clutches wont make daily driving very easy/fun and I've also heard nothing but bad reviews on 6 puck clutches as street cars... just get a street disc act 2600 or similar... its a proven clutch and everyone who has one likes it except those few who had there spring seperate from their clutch.... LOL sucky sucky, I had a act2600 put in my first talon... another one in this talon... wouldn't go with anything else...

Damn this is a old ass thread!

I'm interested in this clutch.
Can anyone post a long term review?
I'm contemplating either this or a clutchnet sprung 6 puck with stock pressure plate.

i know this thread is old but someone's asking for a review, so i'll give it.

first off, i'll never do business or recommend "eclutchmasters" to ANYONE!!! when i ordered i didn't know it was a company that just stole the REAL clutchmasters name and put a small "e" on the front. at the time i hadn't heard much about clutchmasters so i thought i was ordering from the real clutchmasters. not a ripoff.

i ordered the stage 2 with the 6 puck disc. i also paid $20 for 2-3 day shipping. well not only did they send it to me by the slowest means necessary, they sent me the wrong pressure plate. they sent me a stage 1. sticker said so right on the pressure plate. so i called them up and they told me that it was in fact a stage 2 but that they had just put the wrong sticker on it. riiiigggghhhhtttt!!! so i asked what they'd do when it didn't hold and i already had it installed and he said he'd send me out another pressure plate and hook me up. also asked about the $20 that i wanted back since they didn't ship it out by 2-3 day like i had wanted and paid for. he said they'd send me out a refund check.

fastforward...the pressure plate didn't hold for #@*! on a hard launch from a standstill and sometimes not even from a roll. it was of course a stage 1. had to be unless the stage 2 is just that cheap. also, i never got my $20 back. i had e-mailed numerous e-mails with no reply (they were always quick to reply when i was ready to make a purchase or had a question concerning their product) and when i called i always got a shady answer. would tell me that it was in the mail but nothing ever came. said he'd check his books and get back to me. never got my $20 back. never got another pressure plate. they'll never get my business again or even one good comment from me ever again!!!

there's my review. take it for what it's worth. :notgood:

LOL That was great! Purnts!

Oh, so you'll just be slipping it out a bunch on launches instead of dumping it. I doubt thats any better.

Just another update...

Over the weekend I decided to pull my motor and tranny (throwing in a stroker and a shep tranny). My car's been down for a few months now and before it died, it wouldn't shift at all. My transmission has had it's problems so thought that was maybe it. NOPE!!! Pulled the tranny off and the outside of my flywheel had scratches all over it. Took off the pressure plate and metal pieces fell everywhere. 2 springs were totally out of the disc, 1 had half of it broken off and was lodged in it sideways. The flywheel bolts were pretty jacked up lookin and my Fidanza is really scratched up bad so looks like I'll be buying another flywheel now as well.....great. I'll try and remember to post pics up as soon as possible. Can't say enough about eClutchmasters. And that's no compliment. :notgood: Also, one important note, the car was only driven on the clutch for a few months. Piece of $#@%

Here's the pics...

You're lucky that you were even able to get that flywheel off, looking at those bolts. I guess this should serve as a lesson to everyone - buy clutches from reputable manufacturers or face the consequences.
Have you checked yet to see if your flywheel is salvagable?

I probably won't reuse the flywheel just because I'm sure the balance is gonna be off with all those scratches and not wanting to halfass the setup I'm going with now. Also, as I mentioned before, when I bought this clutch I thought it was "Clutchmasters." Not the company who ripped off the name. Lesson learned though. Some of you may have luck with using it, but if they'll rip off another companies name, shouldn't that say enough about em?

Wow and I almost bought that exact clutch 2 days ago. I happened to come across a real Clutchmasters Dual friction though and got that instead. $260 shipped ownz :thumb: Brand New Ebay :thumb:
