ok i noticed my transfer case leaking last week. i talked to a friend he said for the hell of it call the dealer and see if the transfer case recall has ben done to my car. I did and it was not they told me that they had to order a yoke and would call me when it came in and ###### did not have to replace the transfer case. so i went this monday to have the new yoke installed. it took them from 8am untill 4pm to finsh with the car. I asked if it still leaked if i should bring it back and was told yes. I was also told that the transfer case did not need replacing because it was not grinding. the next day i noticed a pudddle of fluid under my car and coming off the trans i took and could see the fluid coming from up towards the top of the transfer case. i called the dealer and was told to bring it back. they called me the next day and told me it was not leaking. i went to pick up the car and looked under the car you could still see some fluid leaking down so i put some on my finger and walked into the service deparment and was told that they want to put dye into the transfer case and clean the bottom of my motor because i have to small oil leaks in the front of the motor oil filter hosuing and a small one from the oil return line. i was told that they will not replace my transfer and want $60 to put the dye into my transfer case. what would you do if you were me i know im being ripped off

Its a transfercase recall not FIXIT tell them you want to exercise your right to the recall and that they should give you a new transfer case. Sing the new transfercase song until they get sick of it.

yeah well a week went by and it started grinding because it had no fluid so they have to pay for the tow to the dealer and replace the transfer case :)

ok get this. last week i took my car back to the dealer. the week before i took my car in for the transfer case recall. the next day i noticed a puddle of fluid under the car. I took the car back to the dealer the next day they called me told me to puck it up. they told me that the transfer case was not leaking and it was power streering fluid. i took the car back drove it for about a week then the transfer case started grinding. i called the dealer and talked to the service manager. he told me that if it was the transfer case they would repay me for having it towed. i had the car towed up to the dealer next day i got a phone call and was told that it was the transfer case and they would be ordering me a new one. i was told it would be in a week later. So i got a phone call today and was told the car was done. i was also told that the rear wheel locked up. i didnt say anything on the phone about the wheel being locked up. I know that the wheeel was not locked up when it was flat beded to the dealer i know the person who flat beded it and watched it be put on the flat bed no issues. I got to the dealer and i asked about the wheel they told me the freed it up and should be ok. I got into the car and noticed a few things right off the batt 1 my gauges were moved tited a diffrent direction wideband and boost. 2. my safc2 was totally changed around!. was not happy wanted to get the car out of there so i went and started the car. i let off the clutch and it wines like and the car would not MOVE AT ALL! at this point im like wtf. my dad gets in and trys it same thing no clutch at all. I go back in and the service manager tells me its the wheel being locked up. me and my dad are like theres no clutch thats why it wont move. he then proceed to tell me that they shouldnt have changed the t-case and it was missing a seal thats why it was leaking in the first place and they only changed it because i brought it back. I said wellwhen it came back why didnt you replace the seal if it was gone? you told me it was not leaking and he didnt say much. then he says that when the transfer case goes like that it could ware out the clutch and gives me a # to chrysler. i call them while i was there and was told i was being jerked around. i told him that and he said they didnt do it and would not cover anything. so my dad said we would call the blumanthal and he said well we wont help you then.so my dads and i are going back and forth with the guy and he finally says well ill call my chrysler rep tomrrow and ill let you know. i also said if they replace my clutch i want whats in there. i have an act 2600 with street disk. they told me that he didnt know if they could do that. Im so upset and neverous ive got almost 10k into this car. its got a built motor trans everything what the hell should i do ? advice is needed thank you!

1. i'm pretty sure you have already posted about this before. the last part is new, but you should continue the same thread.

2. generally speaking, if you force someone to do something they don't want to do, they are going to try to f@ck with you. e.g the transfer case recall. that is why I think all that stuff was f2cked with...(guages and stuff)

3. if all the damage that happened was due to them mis-diagnosing the t-case problem, then they should be held responsible, even for the wheel locking up.

4. the best thing to do is to get as many people involved as possible. like mitsu and chrysler headquaters, nthsa (specially, let them know that they let you drive away a car that could have killed many people on the highway or whatever) the t-case recall is a very serious safety issue. put everything and wrinting and mail it to everyone including the invoices and stuff. pay attention to detail.

5. I would not take my car back there, regardless of what the outcome is. sue, sue, sue.

send satan back to hell!!!:thumb:

so, was the seal there in the first place or no?

i believe it was before they touch the car but after changing the yoke i believe it was not put back in. i did not touch the car after i got it back noticed the leak the next day and it went right back 10mins after i saw the leak and then they said it was not so thats there fault i dont even think they looked at it

post the dealerships name, location and the service managers name and any technitians that may have worked on the car.

i think there is also a good guy/bad guy section in this forum. post their info there as well as your local dsm board. make sure you ad links to this and your other thread.

that sux. i know what u mean. i called a couple of dealers and noone would tell me if my car had recalls done or or any info about my car. BUT yesterday i called one dealer and he told me everything. he even orderen a new gas tank, ball joints and T-case for me. all three of these have been done prior. so he said i have the right to have any recall done i want for the life of the car over and over if i wish

i also found this in another post, might help

The dealer ship is North West Hills Chrysle 2033 East Main street torrington ct 06790 phone # 860-482-0700 the service managers name is kevin the other guys name is rich I was told that the transfer case was leaking because a seal was gone and they said i took it out because if it wasnt in the fluid would just piss right out. i said to them i didnt take it out but i dont care about at this point my next response was that when it was back here the next day how come you guys didnt see it then and told me it was not leaking? they couldnt give me a stright answer and they also told me if i would like i can buy whatever clutch i want and they will put it in for free i lughed and said i dont feel safe leting you guys touch the transmission. i also i asked if they could give me 50% percent of what they were going to cover so i could take it else where and they said no. so i am no in the process of geting the car out of there and me and a friend are going to fix it. i dont have much cash or i would take it else where and sue im going to take pics and keep the parts that come out. im also reporting them to the dmv calling local news stations and a few other things. cost so far is 550$ :( ill post pics monday when its fixed

Thats so messed up i would kick some ass but ya go foward with that let that company be known for there shity service.

big time im also going to write the owner of the dealer a letter as well but im ganna go nuts as soon as i have pics

Sounds like someone there had some fun in your car.....or tried to and couldn't get the thing to launch without slipping the hell out of the clutch.

This is why I trust almost no one around my car.

well heres an update cars running again new clutch 2600 with a soild six puck and act light weight flywheel car runs great need to get used to the new cltuch i just got the car back yesterday also needs a good tune. the dealer totally messed up. the transmssion was removed and the clutch was fine. so the trans was taken apart the vicious cuppling showed some big time ware so that was changed but was not my problem. the dealer installed a new transfer case that had 22 spines my input and orginal transfer case was 23 spines. I called the service manager and told him and he offered to get me the right transfer case i told him not to worry about that because my buddy had a 22 spine input shaft so we swaped that out. i have pics and everything of there big oopsy so the service manager told me to wirte up what was done cost and all that and said he would take care of me. i have done that i droped off all the info today and he wasnt there. i will be calling tomrrow to see when i will be geting some money and if i dont in the next two weeks well ill take them to court. :)

F that dealer. Walk up in there and raise hell till someone pays you. Especially if other customers are in there, dealers hate that. My teacher did that and got a 97 Chevy Silverado for no shit $200. no freakin lie man. His father in law was gonna sell him his truck had the note made out dealer knew about it and everything. When he got to the dealer they told him they sold it, which they did. So he raised alot of hell and somehow got a truck off there lot for $200. Because thats what he had in his pocket. True story...
