Just wondering if most people routed their vacuum line through the firewall or if there is a easier and cleaner routing for the vacuum line, if so please give me detail instruction of how to do it. Thanks.

firewall for me. Just under the battery towards the bottom.

Is there already a hole to put the vacuume line through or did you have to drill one???

You can make a hole in the boot where the steering column goes through, or you can shove it through with some other wires by the battery. If you look with a flashlight you can see a few places where a harness goes through the firewall and there's usually some extra room there.

with mine, I put a hole in the boot and fed it through. It takes a little work but you can do it.

I know this is probably stupid but does it give a more accurate boost reading if the line is shorter. I routed mine through down by the battery also. I just want to get accurate readings so if i have to change it I will. Guess ill do some research on it.

i have it through the side of the hood into the doors instead of the firewall, works great :thumb:

run it through the steering column boot. its the easiest and shortest route i think. just tee off over there run it through the boot, under the carpet, and up the side of ur dash. if you look under the dash, and fish a clothes hanger up through there, you can get slick with it and run the line that way.

More accurate reading, probably not. It will change your reading abit with longer tubing since the longer it is the more length there is to expand and contract, giving you a slightly different reading but probably not enough for you to see on a boost gauge, unless of course you have 30 ft or something. Also with a longer hose the response wont be quite as fast but like I just said this probably wouldn't be noticeable unless you had a huge length of hose. With that being said the shortest route is the best route. I've got the boost gauge, egt etc. through the steering boot and the power wire for the stereo & fuel pump through the boot below the battery.

Just as a note make sure you secure the lines going through the steering boot properly with tie wraps, as there is a steering knuckle right infront of the firewall that could easily tear your lines if their not secured out of the way.
