So im bulding up another 1g talon after almost 2 years of being DSM-less. Ok im going to do all matinence and free mods first.
Then i am going to get...
k&N filter,
MBC and boost gauge @16psi,
Port and polish turbo and manifold,
Some kind of 2.5 turbo back,
weight reduction,
maybie a FMIC

Im poor right now, so dont make fun of my low number of mods.LOL, so do you think if i rewired the pump that would be good enough for say 16-18 psi on 450cc injectors on those mods? Sorry for the newb questions i forgot a little about these cars.

All the re-wire is going to do is make sure you have the same voltage all the way back to the pump. It will help fuel pressure stay constant on the higher RPM's, but the best thing I could suggest is to just get a new Fuel Pump. Especially if your on a tight budget. A fuel pump will cost much less then an engine rebuild/swap. A Walbro 190 would be fine for example.

Yea the rewire insures that you have the same voltage at the battery . . . Which is as high as 14.2 volts or more! This will cause stock fuel pump to flow MUCH more. See RRE DSM and EVO Fuel Pump Flow Rates and Info. The rewire will cause a stock fuel pump to flow 30% more fuel. This means 30% more hp potential!!! Still not enough for 18 psi. . .but perhaps for 16psi. I'd limit it to 15 psi. . .If you want 16 psi you'll feel good w/ 15 psi. . .

You have much more ahead of you than just fuel. You will reach fuel cut at this level unless you fool the ecu using an safc or maft and larger injectors. You will also overrun your maf at this level so you'll run lean even w/ the larger injectors. . . A MAF translator or a 2g maf/safc combo will cure both of these issues. I ran 15psi w/ rewired pump and stock maf/injectors all day long though. This seams to be the limit for a stock longblock w/ your mods.

. . . Some guys report no issues wh the 190lph pump and some do. . . It's a hit or miss. . .

Well this is what im thinking to get me started on my build.
All matinence (all fluids, T-belt,BS removal, plugs, wires)
K&N filter
MBC, and boost gauge
Datalogger
Open downpipe with turndown (drag only car)
Port and polish the 14b and exh. manifold
Then im thinking about getting a SAFC 1 or 2 and 550cc injectors. At that point should i be getting a larger pump?

What are your goals? You mentioned boost levels, but not hp levels. If you want to max out the 14b, you'll need more pump. You'll need to upgrade your maf to run anything over 15psi no matter what your mods are. A maf upgrade is still not on your list. So, I'm supposing you don't want to max out your 14b??? There's no need to get larger injectors when your 1g maf will not read more airflow than what stock 450cc injectors can handle.

Add a 2g maf to your list and you'll be good.

OK well im looking for around 300whp is that attainable with a 14b? I know it hit 326 with the mods on my old talon, but i had an evo3 gt at 18psi. Sorry for the newbish questions ive been away from dsm's for a while now.:sosad: :sosad:

A 14b compressor has it there to flow enough to reach that goal. I would grab a used 7cm^2 turbine housing (from a 16g) for cheap. I got mine for $50. The 14b uses the same turbien wheel as all the 16Gs, but in a 6 cm^2 turbine housing. The 7cm^2 housing will really help you insure that goal. You'll get more lag. But no more than a small 16gLOL .
