Ok, so I got my car running 2 nights ago and worked out almost all the bugs. I'm currently running 16 psi. The one thing that keeps bugging me is that my car has chewed up 2 belts in 2 days. It's the A/C + P/S belt. It only happens after pushing it a couple times, i.e. racing (I didn't say street racing, so don't get any ideas). Any one have any ideas as to why? Well, heres some pics.

Pulley is on there pretty tight and the alternator belt hasn't had any problems (knock on wood). Thanks for the props. Oh yeah, go to the 420a vid's section to see my 16 psi pull.

Your crank pulley could be working its way off. Make sure its tight.

Nice setup.

Shit, I wish mine would! I can't get mine off or back on... its halfway pulled and its frozen there...I've already started breaking the damn pulley with a puller and it just wont come off!

I seriously cannot wait to start building my motor! Well the second motor! I want that POS out of my engine bay! And I want to clean my engine bay! And get everything setup right!

Ok, so I didn't rebuild the head and... I think last night it took a sh!t on me. Good thing a got a spare (in good condition) laying around, but I got to drive 45 min (one way) to get a new HG and head bolts... I also beat a few 13 sec cars, but I can't seem to get any traction what so ever in 2nd gear. It just burns out all the way through 2nd. I was running my stock 195's street tires at 25 psi. I'm going to get a new wheel/ tire combo to see if that helps. If not, then I guess it'll be time for the LSD.

Sucks about the head Abe, but the car looks great otherwise! I would like to see some more video of the ride once you get it back going.

Maybe let the RPM's die down before letting off the clutch then just pounding the gas... On the black car I couldn't keep traction during 1st or 2nd if I'd just high rev pop of the clutch. Especialy when I'd catch boost while burning them... You need to make sure rubber is planted before boosting. If not, its just going to spin.

But, you know whats the good thing about buying new wheels n tires... You can rip the e brake... block the rear wheels and burn the tires off the wheels :D I miss working for Discount Tire!

I'll have more vids on myspace tonight, but they aren't umm... suitable for this site. :shhh:

The car is still running, I just can't boost, cause it'll start to smoke.

Kind of bringing a old thread back but nice setup. I just installed the same clutch and I have nothing but good reviews about it. Hopefully I will be getting my hands on a portfueller this winter. Either that or I'm going megasquirt.

noticed you have alot of the same parts i invested in. pretty exciting to see another 420a+t done. hope you get the belt problem fixed.
