Well, as some of you may know I've recently purchased a 2g and had major drivetrain issues out of it. I pulled the tranny and the topic says the rest. But, here's some pictures for the people who like to see damage.

Mod Edit - Picture limit is 700 x 700.

Alll i can say is damn... and why would you run 300 hp on a stock clutch.. Evo sure but dsm clutch no way in hell.. I surely hope that wasn't 300whp becuase then you were making way more than 300 crank power..

Look at my times on my sig...Those were on a BONE-STOCK ORIGINAL 80,000 mile clutch!!!

That was a 1.8 60', the rest were 1.7's...All with a 5000rpm 2-step launch building 5-10psi...

EvoIII @ 20+psi, full supporting mods...Id say around 300whp

-=D just finished up with the install of the act 2600 / fidanza flywheel and OMG. I can't wait to get this clutch broke in LOL.. Now my maf is throwin' a CEL. Guess you can't have everything!

(note about the topic - that was 86 miles on the "stock replacement" clutch while babied.) faulty hardware i'm assuming or the guy i got the car off of didn't do something right) cheers

Well this scares me, I'm running 360 ish to the wheels on the stock clutch after the swap that is in process. I think I need to upgrade! but i dont have $400 to throw into it.

You might wanna baby it quite a bit till you do then. ;)

I think the stock clutch will handle around 220-230 before it generally starts to slip pretty bad. You guys make your stock clutches shudder with fear, LOL. :p

You mean that disc was obliterated just cruising around? OMG

Weird, it's like the flywheel wasn't stepped to the right height or something. . .

LOL, funny you should ask that. I figured the problem with the slippage was in the adjustment. I'd run it out a bit and get the car good and warm. get above 3k and it would slip 2-3 times then the clutch wouldn't grab anymore. Let it cool off and repeat. Weirdest damned thing I ever seen imo. *shrug* Atleast I can smile about it. This is my 3rd DSM and first turbo charged. Giddy isn't the word. :rocks:

Hope my stock clutch lasts through the 50 trim upgrade at least til i get a lil bit more money freed up. No launches plus low boost. I hope things work out .

This correlates pretty well to my personal experience. If you're making significantly larger numbers than stock, you'd do well to avoid boosting in higher gears on a stock clutch. This is typically where you'll first experience slipping.

all i have to say is DO NOT go with those ebay wanna be stage 3's that are supposed to have like 2600 lbs clamping and a 6 puck disc. yes they are extremely stiff but both cars i tried them in they slip like crazy between shifts  ones in my crx which is a cable clutch and i had to hack the cable to get it fully engaged because the disc is one of those half thick's that are used for better shifting in racing:notgood: and the other is in my nt talon which im tearing back out, but im selling the crx so whatever :D at least my 2g has a new brand name clutch and fidanza 8lb:D i think if i had one of those in it would slip the instant my boost hit

higher gears 3rd gear, 85mph, 15psi 14b, starts slipping never even made it to 4th.. and now i have to do more work before i can drive it again. But upgrading is fun. It didn't do that before.. I guess the 1g head and stuff made that difference and flywheel.
