I just got finished making a custom piece for my FMIC that would 1) cover up the nasty gap between the bumper and FMIC and 2) to bring a little more air to the fmic that Im loosing being it sits a bit high. With lowering the FMIC not an option (my dad doesnt want me to cut any more of the radiator support for the short-route piping to go lower), we opted to make a cool looking plate to keep it from looking to out of the norm.

Im trying to decipher wether I should polish it or paint it black. Its not actually mounted yet the pics were taken with it just taped to the bottom of my FMIC. Im mounting it with 3M adhesive. Tell me what you think. Hope this is the right section to post this in....didnt know where else to put it.

**EDIT- NEW PICS AT THE BOTTOM! Cleaned the car and mounted the piece to the FMIC. Its sturdy as ever...its not going anywhere...its now apart of the FMIC LOL.**

Where did you get those foglight bezels from???????????i dont have fogs anymore and i need some covers!

I like it the way it is! I didn't think it would make that big of a difference appearence wise, but it does!

Functional and aesthetically pleasing.:thumb: I agree with everyone else, looks great the way it is. Painting it would make it look cheaper IMO. Are you confident that the adhesive will hold up to the heat, vibrations, wind pressure, etc?

I guess I'm the ninetieth person who would like to know.

I too would leave it the way it is, right now it blends right in. If you polish or paint it black its going to stick out & not look as goo IMO.

^^ Agreed. :) Now all you have to do is fab up pieces for the other three sides and you should be golden. (Oh yeah, and then you might want to consider doing something about lowering you coolant temps.)

Hey thanks for the replies guys!

Im not too worried about the piece being held onto the FMIC...we are using 3M double-sided tape, and some other stuff that my dad got (He works for Dupot and has hooks with 3M) that *for lack of a better term* glues quarter panels on. Its not going to go anywhere ;)

Ya I think Im going to keep it the finish it has. I was thinking tonight at work that maybe I could wrap it in carbon fiber, but I think it'll look a little more cooler with it just bare aluminum.

greyforestgst made a thread about foglight covers a while back.

He used stock ones, and I believe covered it up with bondo/fiberglass.... I forget, then painted to match the car. Looks very clean.

If your into the CF deal, I believe you can do it like most other cf applications and apply a layer of it.

Well as stated above, I really like the carbonfiber covers, and I would leave the piece as it is. It really looks good like that, no need to bling it up
