I've lasted all summer on my stock clutch ran 13.3 and constant 13.5's all the time.

It is not my DD car
I'm keeping the stock 14b turbo
I want to get into the 12's with it.
If i can do a 12.9 then I am satisfied and done with this car until I finish college.

Now is a act 2600 with a "sprung 4 puck race disk" Over kill for what i want to do with this car?

I was talking to a guy who said he had a 2100 and he fried it too easily and i minaswell go for the 2600.
And another person told me to get a sprung disk to help with the launches

Also what difference does the disk make?? theres a choice of a street disk, 4 puck race disk, 4 puck sprung race disk, or a 6 puck.

Thanks for your help

Mike

Definitely don't get a 4 puck.
Don't get the 6 puck either.

The 4 puck will give you more headaches than you want from impossible street driving to broken trannys and axels.
The 6 puck is less harsh engagement than the 4 puck but similar story.

For your goals the others are overkill.
The street disc is what you want, it has a good strong grip and is also driveable on the street...even if it isnt your DD.
Many take the 2600 with the streeet disc into the 11's and beyond.

^^Agreed. Even with the sprung hub the 4 puck is just not necessary. It's also asking for transmission trouble unless you have a "built" tranny. The 2600 with street disc grabs plenty hard, will hold all the power that a 14b can throw at it (and then some), and also allows you to slip the clutch when launching to keep from breaking other driveline parts.

Yeah dude go with the street disc, it holds like glue and is relatively easy for DD. I just cant get over how you pull 13.5s with a stock clutch LOL. 3 launches and mine was toasted.

edit: I just realized it is not your DD car, but regardless, a street disc will be sufficient enough to hold your car through countless 12.9 passes. Theres a guy at my local track who makes 5+ passes every friday at 11.80s and hes on an ACT2600 street kit
