hey guys i want to get a full turboback exhaust,i went to some of exhaust shops and they told me that its gona cost me 870$-800$ so i asked them why is so expensive, and they told me that they should get the parts and install them,so i desided to get the downpipe and the test pipe myself,so is it good idea or not? em i gonna save some$$$ or i should let exhaust shop do it for me?

i was looking at the 3" dejon downpipes and are they good or should i go with some other one???

I have the full Dejon exhaust, one of the first few off the line when he first made them actually. It's an awesome system for the price for sure. I mean. . . A full o2 back system for around 500 shipped. . .

Just get the WHOLE dejon and have them hang it, and tell them to eff off for the last of the 300. Because most people get custom exhaust bent for half the price of most cat backs. So just get a whole system. . . otherwise it sounds like you're getting hosed.

PS, Please watch your capitalization and punct. You will survive MUCH longer here if you type well. I'm just warning you now before you get threads closed down for not typing properly.

There are so many options out there rather then spending $800-850 from some exhaust shop just look at our vendor section. I know Dejon and Megan just to name a few have full 3" turbo backs for less then $600. I bought my Megan downpipe for 135 shipped and bought a magnaflow muffler 86 shipped and had the 3" mandrel bent piping for the rest of the cat back welded to my muffler for $212. I also purchased a used tubular O2 for $100 shipped for a grand total of $533 dollars. Most places don't include a aftermarket O2 housing and if your a diy person it will even be cheaper. Good luck

I built my own 3" turbo back for around $175. This was using mandrel bends and laser cut flanges. But i can weld.

When i turbo'd my saturn a couple yrs back before i could weld, mt local muffler shop charged me 250 for the turbo back including a hi flow muffler.

Your best bet is to shop around. Even if it means driving an hour out of the way.

wow 800 for a turbo back custom exhaust, thats alot. my friends got a srt4 and wanted me to do a custom turbo back for him, but i didnt have the time so i told him to go to a muffler shop and get one, it should cost him around 350-400 for a turbo back and he did his shopping and told me that the 3 places he went to told him it would cost between 1000-1250 depending on the shop he went to. so i went back with him and i bitched the guy out, i told him im a mechanic and if he thinks he could charge someone that much, hes a scumbag, and a discrace to cars and mechanics. so hes like fine, fine ill charge him 1000 i said #### you, #### this place, and #### anyone dumb enough to come here and waste their money on you, and your shitty work. :talon:

As it has been already posted, you DEFINATELY should not be paying more than $600 for a full turbo-back exhaust system, especially for a 1G. Check out the link below:

This one is for $575:

You are getting scammed/screwed at the shop you visited. Suprisingly enough, a custom exhaust system should be no more than $300-$400 (turbo-back exhaust parts and installation included). Don't go there again. Try a few other local shops and see what you can find for a deal. Other DSMers have been able to get their turbo-back systems for as cheap as $150-$200.

EDIT: Also look below:

On VRS' website, for the FWD 1Gs you can get the 2.5 aluminized turbo-back system for $600.

ok guys i bought a dejon 3' downpipe, and now i need a test pipe, but i can't find one for a FWD and for a good price :( is there any other ways to remove the cat or i should deff put a test pipe

The dejon DP won't need a testpipe. Since it should mate up perfectly with their catback.

EDIT: It looks like dejon HAS a 40 dollar test pipe for their system on their site. Why not just get that? And then mate it with their catback??

i don't know where you was looking but i ask those guys from dejon and they told me that they don't have a test pipe for 1g FWD but they do have for a AWD.... :((

All i saw was "test pipe", whatever. Just have an exhaust shop make it, all it is is straight pipe. You don't even need flanges, just clamp it on and call it a day. Why is this such a big deal?
