63mm Throttle Body

Just some FYI. The throttle body is the source of the most restriction to any engine, so the bigger, the better.

Honestly, that's a really good price for a rebuild and boring out the throttle body. Nightmares about that spring coming undone and cutting me when I rebuilt mine.

Was reading a bunch of fourms on the 1g throttle body compared to the 2g one. I have the stock 2g one now, and i am looking to upgrade to a 1g one. While searching for a 1g throttle body, i came arcoss the rebuilt, and ported to 63 mm throttle body. Was just wondering if i could get some oppinions on this. Thanks

I have a N/T TB installed on my car from that same guy, got this summer and it works good, I'm not going to tell you that my car gained 30hp just of it, but it does have a noticeable difference in top end pull considering my old 90 TB had a leak thru the shaft seals... for the price i paid Im happy with it, pretty much a straight bolt on for my 1G.

After doing some more research about it, i figured the rebuild 63mm one would do just fine. I talked to slowboy about it and the mustang ones are nice for flow, but not really good for drivability. The reason is that you can't used you isc on the mustang or 75mm ones. I am just happy to finally get rid of my 2g (honda) throttle body, that was choking my engine.:beatentodeath:
Thanks for the reponses

I also have one of the ebay 63mm T-Bodies. After countless attempts to fix my leaking shaft seals I gave in and bought one from that guy. I couldn't notice a difference but, I no longer have leaky shaft seals.

Steve does a great job, my 66.5mm 1G is awesome and idles great even with the FIAV block off.

He will go bigger if you want, which is great for us with the JM intake mani. :thumb:

Check out FFWD Connections web site thet have a very nice tb rebuil.I got one a while back and am very happy with it.Customer service is also top notch there the best DSM shop from my experience.

I've never really understood the point of boring the TB over to 63mm or just going with a larger TB all together unless you are trying to make stupid amounts of power, i.e. +700whp. I've just seen way too many DSMs make 500-680whp on a 60mm TB.

I agree, unless you are running an aftermarket intake manifold and cams I really don't see the point, and even then you will have upgraded to a 75mm t-body. Just fix the t-body seals, give it a good scrubbing and be done.

Are we having "who got the biggest TB" contest or what?LOL Stock 60mm TB and NT TB have make closed to 800whp. Find one in good shape, replace the seals, and call it done.

i always had idle and other problems with my 1g TB when i put it on my GSX. it always idled wierd and you do loose some bottom end but the top end was definately there

OMG, it's a proven performance mod on all vehicles. It helps spool up and will flow more air, which will make more power. All of this for $150, I say it's worth it not because I think it works, because I KNOW IT WORKS!!!!

Yeah and the venturi created when coming from a 3" UICP to a 60mm TB also works, not because I think it works, because I know it works.:thumb:

1. Bigger TB is not a proven performance on "all" vehicles. By that, I mean bigger TB doesn't alway equates to better performance. It depends on the rest of the setup.

2. It will not help spool up unless 60mm TB is restrictive.

3. You can find a stock 60mm TB for $50, 100% bolt-on and performs as great.
