I could've lost it, but I didn't; I took a deep breath and...

I just need to tell someone this so I can get back out to the garage and fix my f..k up!

I just rebuilt my 6 bolt; its my first time. Things have gone great. I don't think I could have learn more any were else.

I've had the block together for a few days now. I don't have to get up tomorrow so tonight is the night. I could tell I was rushing things, it just didn't feel right, but I moved right along anyway. Greasing up the throw out bearing, cleaned the fly wheel, made myself a clutch plate alignment tool. Started slapping it all together.

All is going good...

I get everything bolted together and start lifting it high above the car (I know what your thinking, but if I had dropped my engine on my car; I would have lost it for sure.) So I start to get everything settled into the engine bay. The only thing that was holding me up was the darn AC compressor. I started cursing the hot weather as I twist and turn the ten pound piece of crap, and then wait, I think I got it, one of the bolts into its hole. I turn to get a wrench but there was none, they were on the other side of the car. As I move to get my 12 mm the compressor falls to the side under the block in a real shitty spot. Now I'm really thinking about taking the AC out. I start mulling over the mess I'll make if I just pull everything off like a mad man. Then it hits me!!!!

Whats that there by the rest of the AC compressor bolts, I've seen that before. Owe ya its the return clip for the throw out bearing... SHIT!

Thanks, now that I've got that off my chest. I can get back out there and take it all apart again. I am a moron.

Nothing will turn that "got to be perfect" project car into a "I hate you" faster than aliening your motor mounts wile dropping in that rebuilt engine!!

I fixed my screw up, it wasn't all that bad. I hadn't bolted any of the mounts down so pulling the engine back out took all of ten quick pumps of the engine hoist and that sucker came fly'in out. Tore the four trans axle bolts off and slapped that return clip in there and had it back together in fifteen minutes.

I swear though that damn AC pump was inches from becoming recyclables. I put so much time into painting the block, taping everything so if it wasn't a machined surface it had primer, three coats of color and two clear. But after thirty minutes of trying to alien the bolt for one engine mount; I would have drop kick the damn thing in there if I thought it would have gone in easer!

I've got two of the four mounts bolted now; the trans and front. I think its time for a brake before I really do something I'll regret. That rear mount is going to be hell and I haven't even got all the AC bolts in yet... Any thoughts on ether of those would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Sean.
