I got my 1g awd yesterday. I had to drive 200 miles to get it but it was worth it. The orginal price was 1200 but the day before I went to get the car the owner told me the car was overheating. He never really drove the car so I went to take a look. When you start the car the water temp gauge goes to the middle of past right away. Within one minute the gauge it pegged out. This is not possablely accurate. I told the guy that the car was over heating bad I and I would give him 700. He said fine and I drove the car home 200 miles. The car ran fine the whole way so the gauge is broken. I took the t-stat out before I left and the gauge still did the same thing. I will post pics later but I have a few questions.

I plan on making the car a fast daily driver and I have all the gauges and stuff I need. I am putting on 3in turbo back exhaust and thinking about the gm maft mod. I have read the tuning guide and the stuff in there is kinda vague. Would the maft be a good mod after I do the exhaust? IF someone puts a few ideas or a list with order of things to do after i tune this thing up it would be cool. its a 92 tsi 6/4 combo. I will post pics today. Please dont laugh at the paint it will be one of the last things I do.

ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL (look at that paint) ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL
Sorry I couldn't resist.
It looks like it has potential.
Does it have any mods, if so list them, then help will be on the way.
I just got my turbo-back, and next I'm going to take care of the intake. After that I'm going to get some gauges to make for sure everything is in order. Then a clutch, flywheel, and a short shifter are next on the list. I hope that helps, cause that's what I'm going to do.

Someone is going to steal your gas.

The paint is in better shape than my car. Poor thing has been exposed to the elements since Day One.

Can you say gravel car??:sneaky: :sneaky:

I will take that car from you right now, so I can offroad it. Dont even worry about the body, hell paint it bright orange so they can find your overturned vehicle in the forest. Rip the exhaust off and go downpipe only. Buy some heavy 16 in. wheels and put some gravel/mud/snow tires on and let the good times begin.:thumb:

Agreed:thumb: :D

It looks as though it may have been repainted, or at least the front bumper...If you look in the middle of the bumper between the headlights near the Eagle logo, the flat vertical parts are painted blue. I think they were originally black. Very nice steal though for $700.

Found the first real problem today. The rear end is messed up. When I put it in gear sometimes I hear a click. Also if i turn like parking or anylow speed turn the car will sound like the tires are squeeling. I will post this in the problem forums to see what people think.

That happened to me ONCE, it has never happened to me again...another dsm thing. I would look to the power steering pump for some answers:thumb:
