I would greatly appreciate it if you guinea pigg'd it. I am in the market for a t-28 and that is a dang good price. If anybody has feedback on this place I would love to hear it as well.

Wow that price on a T-28 makes me want to buy it and go for the ultimate sleeper look
I really want an E316 though!

How can they sell a real DSM bolt-on T28 for that little amount, when a T28 from FP costs like $900?

Same way EvoIII 16G is sold for $520 nowerdays.
$600 is maximum that T28 should've ever costed anyways, given what it is. Good to see someone approache sane price levels.

I just got off the phone with them and heres what I found out:

They have been in business for about 3 years. They have sold 50+ t28 eclipse turbos and have yet to recieve a complaint about them. All parts accept the Compressor housing and Exhaust housing are brand new. They are built to meet or exceed OEM specifications. And if you send them your old t25, as long as it has no cracks in the housing and a good wastegate, they will credit you $100.

This information was given to me by the shop and in now way am I assuring you guys that its true. I am just relaying what information I have found out. IMO it doesn't sound like that bad of a deal at all.

EDIT: I forgot to metion that they also give a 12 month warranty as well.

The "T28" from FP costs $900 because it is a faster, quicker spooling turbo than a T28, and is actually called a Big 28.

Actually the "Stage 3 Garrett turbine wheel" upgrade for $100 listed on their site is the "big t-28 turbine wheell". So if you get that upgrade then it is a Big t-28.

I called G-pop again and cross-refferenced the part# to confirm this.

Nice!

And you can get that Stage 3 Garret Turbine Wheel practically for free by sending in your old T-too small (I mean t-25) ;)

Well i spoke with him today and he said the stage3 wheel is good for 375hp and will make the turbo hold boost into the redline. The turbo without the stage 3 wheel is still considered the big T28 and still puts out in the 300hp range. As long as my money situation works out next week i will be purchasing this turbo and let you guys know how it goes.

Here is the cell phone number of the head turbo tech= 479-263-3363

What supporting mods if any would you need to run this turbo?

550 injectors, 190 fuel pump? Would you need some type of engine management system to tune it also?

I would recommend at least a 190(I would rewire it), and a logger SAFC combo, 550cc....In that order.

It's possible to run it without fuel upgrades at all. I just would keep the boost to around 13psi until you get them. The sooner you get the fuel upgrades to go with it, the better.

What about 650cc Injectors, 255lph Pump, Eprom ECU and a DSMlink?

Overkill for this turbo or not?

BTW, I'm going to give you some rep. points (Although I don't think they will count until I become a proven member)

Thanks

Anytime.:thumb: I would say that with that setup with a solid tune, you could lay down some decent times. I think that you would be getting close to maxing out that turbo, but not overkill.

If you were to do that I would highly recommend a bigger intercooler. And you are going to need an AFPR to go with that fuel pump, or else you will over run the stocker. But that setup would work great IMO.:rocks:

Alright, thanks

Last question, since New Members are limited to only posting here, and if I help them out and they give rep points, but it doesn't count since they are New, how do I become proven?

A proven member will notice you helping others. It may seem frustrating at times but just keep helping in the newbie section and eventually somebody will notice and give you rep.

I was just scanning ebay the other day and came across this 28 on ebay from GPOPSHOP, same turbo on their site.

BTW, good luck. Let us all know how nice it is when you get it (if) ;)

Well guys, I am taking the plunge today on the G-Popshop Big T-28 Turbo.

I decided that I would risk it in order to help give the dsm community an alternative option when buying a t-28.:thumb:

Expect a full product/vendor review with pictures and periodic updates.:rocks:

I just purchased the same thing this morning from them. Spoke with them on the phone and they seemed really helpful and answered a bunch of questions. Only problem I have is that I wanted it now and have to wait an extra day for them to port it. :p
They said it would be in AZ by either Friday or next Monday the latest, so we'll see...
