Ive read alot of information about the RS49T turbo from AGP and many people say that they used to have it, or one of their friends used to have the turbo, then after a few weeks they just pretty much turn to junk. I know they have a 1 year warranty(or something like that), and will replace the turbo 1 time if something goes wrong with it. Is it as common as it seems for these turbos to go bad? or am i just reading the bad stuff, and not the good? Any information will help greatly, thanks!

Its because the "T" model is made by turblonetics(aka turbonetics). If you buy a plain RS49 you should have no problems because its a Garrett and a much better turbo IMO.

I currently bought a Turbonetics Rs49t from a friend and Hill at Turbotrix said they had a guy with the same turbo swaped his exhaust housing on the turbo (Having to get a diff o2, and manifold) resulting in 100hp more just from that. Supposedly the exhaust housing and turbo aren't made for each other.

That is because the mitsu housings are much smaller than a true .63. How much? who knows, no vendor I've ever spoken to will disclose such information. Now, it has been known that with a fully setup car, switching from a mitsu turbine/manifold to a t3, you will need 30-60+whp from the swap.
