Some of the people in the Myrtle beach thread proposed the idea of a meet in Virginia Beach sometime in May. I'm just trying to figure out who would be interested in going there. Hopefully all the Carolina people would drive up for this since we drove down there

I would think June would be just as bad if not worse then May.

Ok, I'm saying May 26-28 (Friday-Sunday) unless anyone would prefer another date, please come forward now. We should give people plenty of time to plan things and take off work, etc.

Well, we should be in tourist season by then. Though I don't know the price, expect it to be pricey.

Well sounds good to me ! . I don't know which car I have will be comming . I just blew either a piston or head gasket ( leaning tward HG ) this afternoon . Did a quick pull on the HWY hit 20 psi and I had a james Bond smoke screan . Well this gives me more of a reason to replace that motor w/ what I wanted in the 1st place ! . Everything happens for a reason and well come h__l or high water either the green fwd will be there or the Beast awd will make it . Damn No radio no ac no ps .. err that gonna be a rough ride.

On a personal schedule I meant May was going to be too hectic for me. I know Ed will not be able to make it then either. Once you get in to May, June and beyond it's going to be expensive regardless. Probably 1.5 to 2 times as expensive just because the hotels will all be packed. Va Beach has an anual surf contest sometime in that range as well as some other music festivals. These tend to bring in more people and drive rates up as well.

Last time there was a Va Beach meet I set it up. I scouted out about a dozen hotels, three or four suitable dining locations and a few other things. It was more expensive than MB because of the time and the best priced hotel that had a reputable name and clean rooms was NOT on the strip and not really close to much of the action. It wasn't easy getting so far away from most of the action but we're not exactly known for spending alot of money on anything OTHER than our cars. With that in mind, we went with the hotel we did. I tried find the Va Beach East Coast Road Trip thread do research where we were at with no success.

I've got an auto-x in the morning so I've got to go to bed now (11:30pm and I leave at 6:30am). I will try and do some more research this week as well as finish the project everyone's been so willing to see. I propose June (any weekend other than the 11th) from my end but of course the majority rules.

Well, I didn't want to be the one who said the meet would suck without at least one of us. Besides, it's normally either Ed or myself who does all the foot work. I plan on going back up there probably in two weeks at which point I could do some more scouting around and hopefully report back.
