Assclown with no licence driving his fathers Early 80s Bright Yellow ElCamino :barf: at night in the rain rolled thru an intersection and got T-boned. Cop issued this guy multiple tickets at the scene and listed him as at fault.

Luckily he was alone as his p/s side door was pushed in pretty far. Also lucky for me that this was the first time in 6mos I didnt' have my 3yo in the car with me on the run to Blockbuster.

Now do I gamble with this guys Progressive Insurance or just pay my $500 deductible and have State Farm do it right at my shop of chioice  :dsm:

Usually, you will get reimbursed your deductible after the claim goes through subjugation (sp?).

I figure this whole process will likely take ~3weeks between the Body Shop / State Farm / Progressive doing the estimates, ordering parts, scheduling the repairs..etc. By this time I'm sure Progressive will have kicked in the $ for my deductible (State Farm will file for this against them on my behalf).

Car held up well, although to my suprise the airbag did not deploy
Hit the guy pretty hard (~25-30mph) but square and in the rain (both slid on impact) which helped minimize damage.

Oh well, guess I have to take the Talon out in the rain now :( :dsm:

take it to the place you want to no matter what insurance you use. although, if they have progressive, it is pretty good and you should have no problems getting it fixed. i would not even bother getting your insurance involved. just handle it yourself with thier insurance.

LOL Nice kill, 19" rims I might add.

I see that you're taking this pretty well, all things considered.:thumb:

Hey John, I was thinking this isn't so bad for you until I read the part about it being Progressive. You'll recall that similar situation a few years ago when my Talon was totalled after rear ending some woman who was reaching for her cell phone and merged into my lane leaving me no room to stop. The cop at the scene wrote down it was her fault and she admitted everything, but Progressive was still ultra slow to take responsibility. Also lucky for you this was your acura and not your Talon. They offered me crap for my car despite detailed records, so I said screw you, had State Farm pay me everything but my deductible, Progressive paid that. Then State Farm sued Progressive for the difference. All in all it was a learning experience.

Anyway, glad to hear you weren't hurt and your son and wife were not in the car.

Ken

I feel for you man. Only it was my Dsm that got totaled. I was driving down the road minding my business when some dumb blonde decided she was gonna pull out of mobil in front of me. Completely her fault. Lost my talon, my one true love. To make a long story short, I had to hunt down HER insurance company after 2 weeks trying to contact them. It was some BS online insurance. They gave me 1200 bux for the talon. They said it was worth 1500 bux and under wisconsin law your automatically 20% at fault. To make it worse, I was moving to arizona in 1 week. I got screwed on my mods and got no reimburstmant for em. It makes me mad i pay more insurance than a women even though i have no tickets or accidents. So here i sit in Arizona, DSMless:cry:  . I am determined to find one though.

You're entitled to first refusal for the salvage title of that car, it costs 10% of what the insurance company would have paid you. So for $150 you could get your mods back that way, and part it out.

wait, im confused. he hit you or you hit him but it was just his fault?

either way, no one was hurt and thats most important, atleast not until that kid got home i'm sure. and yes, its a very good thing your kid or no one else was in the car.
