Hey guys just picked up a used G4CS and am planning on rebuilding it but have a few quick questions that I wasn't able to find answers to by searching.

#1 What timing plate do I use on the crank in order to get the correct timing?

#2 Can I get the pistons that fit G4CS w/ 4G63 head in .020, .040, etc. over size?

#3 What head gasket should I run? Make/Model?

#4 Everything from my 4G63 will work except timing belt and cam gears correct? Which I can get from a 94 Mitsubishi Galant 2.4?

Thanks for the help, Kevin.

#1 I used the 4g63 timing plate

#2 Ross and Wiseco makes pistons for the g4cs at .020 over, .04is taking it to the extreme IMO. The cylinder wallas are aalready thing from the stock bore on the G4CS.

#3 I used the 87mm gasket from cometic par #C4235-051

4# yes only parts you need to get is timing belt and came gars from the 94 2.4L gallant.

Email me with any questions i have done 3 of these builds already in the last 8 months [email protected]

Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.

All I did was type in G4CS into the cylinder head /short block in the advanced search area. Amazing how that function works.

Thanks alot Shane! That was easy enough huh Lunch Box? When I was searching through various stroker threads I seemed to get conflicting answers on some of the stuff that's why I asked. Trust me I know the rules, I have been on here a long time and know to search before I ask which is what I did. Thanks again, Kevin.

It is also easy enough to do a search. I was able to find every answer I needed for my 2.4L build through the search function so obviously you weren't doing something right.

the crank timing plate to use would be the g4cs one, because the 90-92 timing plate the notch is off.The g4cs has to be setup 93-94 timing mark on the crank! So the g4cs plate is setup for 93-94 timing

Are you saying that you can use the 93-94 timing plate, or that the G4CS uses the same marks as this?

yeah i used the g4cs timing plate.which is also the same as the 93-94 4g63.If you use the 90-92 it will be 180 degrees off about

Can someone take a pic of the correct one so everyone understands what it looks like.

Are you 100% sure about this? I have a 1991 timing plate on mine and the car runs perfectly fine.

im using the 2.0 timing plate as well. i put my motor to TDC and the 2.4 plate would not line up. ive talked to 1fastlaser about this before and the only thing i can think of is that he is using a 93 up oil pump case. i know the timing marks are different for those.
