come on guys i really need your help i think its got something to do with the block being messed up inside but not really sure. oh and the underdrive pully came off after the second rebuild

Once an engine crankwalks, rebuilding it is not really an option. You need a new block/crank.

Yeah, you never rebuild a crankwalked 7 bolt, or any 7 bolt.

why is that? we kind of figured that out now sience its done it 3 times now. i just wanna know exactly why its that way?

As to why DSMs walk, no one knows for sure. If you really want to know "why" you'll have lots of theories to sift through or you can do your own research. Shoot, why not throw another theory out there, you've walked three times

well from my knowledge about crankwalk and how it happens. for the most part it is due to the design of the 7 bolt thrust bearing. it is true that the crank get worn and the bearings etc. but from what i understand of what ive done research on. it is the thrust bearing. also, once you walk a 7 bolt block, usually a rebuild isnt an option. but it is not impossible. this time around if you want to keep rebuilding it, do everything you did last time and make sure you put a new thrust bearing in it. im not sure what it is about them that makes them wear so easily. something that will help a lot is starting yoru car without the clutch in. though i didnt read up on your profile to see if you were auto/ or man...but still the point is being made cause i dont watn to type all this again . anyways let me know how it goes. if not id say your only other option is to buy a used 7bolt with more than 70k on it and drop it in here....or do the 6bolt conversion.

as to that...the 7 bolt was put into dsm's from 90-92.5, so his motor is a 93 and a 7 bolt

Actually, the 7 bolt wasnt put into the 1g's until 6/92. The 90- 5/92 had the 6 bolt. Im sure thats what you meant, I just wanted to clarify it.

that is correct. typo on my part. guess i should have read it before i clicked post

the reason i never did the 6 bolt swap is its a nt and im tryig to sell it wanted to fix it for as cheap as possible. right now it looks like im just going to buy a used engine and put it in and cut my loses. its just weird how it would walk after 10k and then 2k after it made it 106k from the factory. after it walked the first time something might have git messed up in the block and 2nd time got messed up even more. also do u think my act 2100 had nething to do with it because i installed that probally 1000 miles after the first rebuild. im starting to get tired of dsms and its definatly not worth it with a nt dsm. Im lookin for a new car now and considering an awd dsm but not sure anymore if i want one.

well if you did the rebuild and didnt take the motor out and replace the bearing properly than thats is my guess why it keeps happening......as to the 2100, i doubt it would make it crankwalk its not to strong. unless of course you ride the clutch or have it in at every light. thus making more wear.
