Arg.. okay. i've search and searched.. So i'll make a post and hopefully I can get some dark areas exposed to a little light. :)

To explain it quickly, I recently got an apartment above a 3 car full sized Garage (used to be a business until they sold it to a friend. blah blah) So I have full access to this garage and all the tools my American Muscle car loving friend has (joy!)

Sooo, combined with my new good paying job, I've decided to build up an engine and Transmission on the side, instead of doing it peice by peice inside my car. (less downtime I hope)

So a couple of questions. :)

1 - What do I need / Where do I need to go to get information about how to upgrade the 420a transmission to handle up to 400 HP (around that)
2 - What kind of injectors would you recommend? Size and Brand?
3 - Can I use a Neon Tranmission?
4 - Would you recommend I just have someone from a transmission shop do the work? Or is this something that I can do myself? (Lots of Transmission ignorance LOL)
5 - Instructions how to modify your bumber area for the Front Mount Intercooler (heh just thought this one up)
6 - And basically any "Look out for" hints ya might have for me. This is going to be my winter project and hopefuly have it on the road by next spring/summer. :)

I'm sure there's a ton more, but I've been finding like 95% of the answers already.. Love this site hehe. :thumb:

As for the transmission, and engine I'm sure you can send it to a transmisson shop or ask them what kind of tools you are going to need, You could use neon tranny parts inside your mitsu tranny if you want longer gear ratios but its up to you.
Also If I were you I'd throw a kick ass LSD in there if you can afford it (Quaife or Kazz will run you 700-1200).

As for the the bumper modification their really isn't much too it, the hahn guide shows you how to cut it for their big ass front mount, but if you go with a front mount like on the star stage 2 kit and still want some kind of bumper reinforcement, check out the black eclipse at teamoutlandish.net he has a picture with a modified steel tube for a reinforcement, if u ask me though it wouldn't do much.
I think for injectors for our cars 450's are the biggest size you should need, but keep asking around.
Check out howellautomotive.com for parts for your rebuild and good luck.

I myself have been looking into that one. As it stands in my case, my tranny will crap the bed anytime now. If you get any info on this, share!!

The size of injectors depends on how much boost you plan to run. The majority that I've seen are 440cc at 12-14psi. If you want to boost like 20-25psi then you would need much bigger injectors. Any brand is alright, personally I went with MSD, but theres so many other out there, its a personaly preferance.

Your bumber (aka bumper :p ) dosnt need to be modified for a front mount. I wanted the big ass Greddy 24v made for the 4g63 guys, so I had a bracket made for the top and bottom. Youll just have to follow the instrustions on how to install it, and if it dosnt align with the bumper, make some brackets to make it line up.

There is no point in a rebuild that anyone can prepare you for problems that arise. Sometimes they are easy sometimes they arent. Just gotta ask... do you know what your getting yourself into? ;) It's tough, but if I can do it, you can too.

Theres a lot of useful information on the internet. Specifically for us n/t guru's 2gnt.com is mega helpful since its devoted to non turbo 420a's. Thats where I've learned a lot, I would suggest if you have not already, to check it out as well.

Good luck on your project. :thumb:
