How hard is it to put on your own timing belt?

Well, for a 20 buck difference I'd just go with the OEM belt. Why take a chance on such a vital part.

Thank you. You can ask DSMED, he knows from experience how cheaping out on 20 dollars can turn into a costly mistake.![]()
....believe me GO BUY THE DEALER BELT!!!!!!! If you don't believe me, then go buy one of each and hold them up next to each other, then YOU decide which one you will feel safer putting on your DSM.Originally posted by Dsmed
oh yeah...go ahead and buy the cheap autozone belt. Then come back and ask me about 8 smacked intake valves.......believe me GO BUY THE DEALER BELT!!!!!!! If you don't believe me, then go buy one of each and hold them up next to each other, then YOU decide which one you will feel safer putting on your DSM.

You need about 6 hours, some tools, and a shop manual
