Just want to invite anyone local to SJ or willing to drive to another site's weekly meets. I've heard a few of you guys cruisin by the Subie/Big Dogs meet thursday nites, this group of car guys I chill with are a lot more welcoming then them-trust me. We meet up just about every Saturday night in the Cardinal (3197 Meridian Ave) Parking lot (Rite Aid Side) about 8pm

The site is www.performancesport.net and is comprised mainly of really cool and really local car guys, tons of SRT4s, and a bunch of other makes models. Just pull up, park, and if anyone looks at you funny just say that the dude with the black eclipse invited you, if Im not already there saying whats up to you. Hope to see some new faces out there, and bring some more DSM blood into our turbo mix.

Yeah i think Charles with the Silver SRT-4 passed me one of these cards with that site on it at the Santana Row meet. Hopefully i will have to come and check out this meet!
BTW whats your name so we can look for you?

LOL sounds like our Charles. That guy has been known to run out in the middle of the street on a red light to pass a card out. My name is Billy BTW. Hope to see you out there sometime.

pretty close to this.. but maybe we should have our own spot with only dsms because EnticivEclipse likes to prove a point how DSMs are better than everythign else.. ROFL :dsm:

What fun is parking with 2 or 3 other DSMers which always seems to happen with this board? ;)

None of the guys there hate on other makes/models-unless the driver of said make/model deserves it. All cars have their strengths/weaknesses, I love my DSM, I know its not the best car in the world (or the most reliable), but, theres also nothing else I'd want to drive. The entire reason the forum was started was so local car guys could all kick it and have a good time and not have to worry about being singled out for what they drove. Like I mentioned before, if you want to come meet some cool people and make some cool friends then come chill-hell, we're even having a huge party for the 4th of July, but if your gonna come and "park somewhere else cuz you think your car is better" and then try and start trouble then please go across the street to starbucks and dont bother coming, but realize you'll be missing out on some awesome people.

damn 7:30 is pretty early how long do you guys usually stay out there for?

Depends on the group usually. Not everyone shows up till like 830, and it varies on how late we stay out. Sometime's we'll go take over a pizza place or pool hall, bowl, see a movie, tray slide, make a random video...lately we've just hung out at that spot all night till after 11pm though. We've been getting more attention from the wannabe racers across the street at starbucks and sometimes they'll come over and talk loads of crap and then just drive away when our guys pull out their walletts.

BTW- July 3rd and 4th we are having a kegger/bbq/block party-got the permit from the city and everything, its right near Big Dogs on Cherry/blackstone (the first street after hillsdale). Cross street is plummer/blackstone. Bring food/girls if ya'll like. Just be civil and come have a good time.

this saturday i'll be out there hopefully i can get some of my teammates to join... ive noticed how cocky srt-4 owners can be i hope the guys that are there dont fit that stereotype do they? since it seems like its all srt-4s from the site it seems like they are a cool group but do they play well others?

Super well with others man, thats why I hang out with them. There is always gonna be at least one cauky SOB in any car group but for the most part they are well behaved. These are the guys that say they "drive a neon" when others ask. They're awesome, just say that Billy invited you and you'll be more than welcome.

I can vouch for this guy. ;) They're good people. So if you have some free time on a Saturday, cruise by and say "hi." I should also be out there again this weekend.

I finally get a Saturday off from work, i just might showup! If not i'll prolly be wrenching on my ride :sneaky:

Awesome man, you totally should swing by. There are plenty of other days to work on your ride :thumb:
Hehe...well my goal is to get the engine inside and running before the Stinson meet!! Which is only a few weeks away!! :thumb: :talon:

Just in case it hasn't been done already, make sure to post these weekly meets in the Calendar so that this thread doesn't turn into a run-on discussion. We want each thread posted in this forum to be time sensitive and focused around one event. Once the event passes, the thread will become obsolete and a new one can be started. Thanks guys.

Done. So you ever gonna make it out to one of these meets Ludachris? I've heard you cruise by BDG on Thursdays, we are usually right down the street from there at those times. Some of the Subie guys didn't appreciate us "crashing their meet" as we usually had more cars out then they did at their own meet.

More DSMs showed up than Subies? Wow!! Never seen that happen before? OMG When was this? I personally know a handfull of the subie owners out there...They know that i piggybacked their meet, you should stop by sometime soon. Last night there were a good number of subies that showed up...no DSMs last night but an EVO showed up! :thumb: Where do you guys hang out and how many? Most of the Subie guys do respect anything turbo or AWD, well my friends at least...I respect anyone who even shows up! Chris what do you think about the scene on thursdays? I tend to think they turn out pretty good when the DSMs show up! :thumb: :talon:

this sounds cool. im a first time dsm owner and definately wanna meet up with some others. i've had the car since 2 saturdays ago and since then i have done basic maintenance along with a dp and 3" exhaust, boost controller on the way, springs in my garage, turbo timer ready to install, and a boost gauge telling me that im creeping to 17psi. i would like to ride in a few dsm's that have other than stock turbo's as i will swap in the near future. ive been into cars for 4 years now but am really starting to up my standards. turbo cars rock! when's the next meet, ill roll by with some of my other turbo friends. my name is edwin btw and i live in san ramon, anyone close by?

nah, wasnt more dsm's than subies. Was more cars from performancesport.net than the iforums. Didnt happen all the time, was just real funny when it did. You guys are right in the fact that they respect turbo and AWD, but with a bunch of FWD SRT4s in the pack they weren't the friendliest bunch, and those cars do deserve a bit of respect. Dodge got it right with them even though its still a neon.

Hey Norcal dsmers'... I have been looking for a local forum and havent found one so I have put up a temporary one up on my website until I get its own URL. Feel free to come by and join and post and talk shit or do whatever ;) Register away! Mainly just a place to talk about anything, not just dsm's or cars.

The Big Dogs meets are cool. A lot of cool guys who really like to talk shop. Granted, it's a Subaru meet, but funny enough, you end up talking with people who really know their stuff and usually have more done to their car than any DSM meet I've been to around here.

sickgsx-316, where's the DSM meet, and what time? I saw something posted by you in the Calendar about Kohls parking lot, but no time was mentioned. And Kohls is really close to In n' Out, which is not usually my type of scene.

Its an all car meet at Kohls. Starts around 7:30-8 usually. On the side that faces santa teresa. Really awesome group of people that will talk cars all night w/yah if you can keep up. Im usually one of 2 or 3 dsm's there, with an evo, an evo'd out lancer, and a handful of VW's and SRTs, street bikes, and other random cars. Not sure if they'll be out there tonight(july-9) as we are going to a housewarming bbq in salinas. We totally avoid the silly in n out crowd.
