Hey guys, I'd like to see about getting a bunch of local DSMers together for a night at the track. Some friends of mine (Vette owners) are going to Sac for Vette Magic. I was planning on going up with them on Friday for Test n' Tune to try out the new setup and do some tuning. If anyone is interested in going out and doing some runs, let me know. I've been there for Vette Magic a couple of times and it wasn't as packed as you would expect. Obviously, it's a little crowded, but it's cool seeing all the different cars out there. I believe the price is $45 to run your car. Last few times I was there, that got me 10+ runs. If you've never been to the track, here's your chance. Don't be intimidated. We all sucked at some point, and some of us still do

Before the complaints start rolling in.... Yes, at $45, it's not dirt cheap. It's on a friday so traffic will suck for those of us outside of Sac. And yes, there is a chance it could be crowded. Suck it up and don't whine! I'll probably be leaving San Jose in the late morning to avoid traffic. It would be nice to actually have a group of DSMers out at the drag strip. Plus, there is sure to be a bunch of V8 guys out there who need to be surprised. It really would be great to have some DSMs out there putting down some good numbers - I hope I'm one of them.

sounds like a good day for me. me and my buddy used to go on wednesdays, but since last summer i went twice, and each time something went horribly wrong, it has scarred me from going back(carpool lane violation on the way there, alt dies on way back, 2 hours from home)

ill be down to go. with a good enough turnout, well turn it from vette fest, to vette vs dsm day.

ok now im really down to go. i got a couple dsm shit talkers over at the thunderterd club of america that need to be shut up permanently.

at 45 for how many pulls vs 15 for maybe 3 on wed nights, its a dam bargain.

Everyone and their brother will go to a BBQ or hang out at an In N' Out Burger parking lot, but you mention going to the track and people get quiet, start mumbling something about the price, or how their car isn't ready for the track, the date isn't good, or some other reason. I could see a few people not being interested - but NOBODY is ever interested. I'm speechless. Please, someone surprise me and show up next friday. Give me some hope that there are DSMers around here who are actually passionate enough about these cars to go to the track and get some timeslips.

Does anyone know of any other non-DSMers that might be interested? I'm beginning to care less about what kind of car they own - I just want to meet up with people who are passionate about going fast and tracking their car.

I should be headed out there as long as I can get off work early....oh I won't be bringing a DSM...

this is the only thing i have left to do until my dsm days is over.. (run at least a 12 at the track).. unfortunately i have to work mon-fri 9-5.. when things are slow and organized at work i can take a day off.. maybe next time..

Last time I went to Sac I took some serious life off of my clutch. I don't think it'd be able to withstand one more launch.. And I'm too broke to take that chance

I'll try to bring a couple friends with Mach 1's and SRT's...

i think its something like 5-8 bucks a head to get in and watch.

i need someone that knows how to use a camera good too, i want to record everyones runs and make a vid out of it.

Funny you say that, I've only seen one DSM at the track ever run faster than 13's here in Norcal. It was a 20g 1G AWD that was running high 11's. To be honest, I think I've only seen a handful of DSMs at the track period. Maybe they just all go when I'm not there.

so im prolly not going.

got home from work today, FED EX dropped off my Tein H-Techs, i call my buddy over and we lay everything out, get all the tools ready, i go into my glove box for the wheel lock, and its not there. we spend a good hour looking for it, nothing. so we go to every auto store that would sell wheel locks like mine(6 sided star) came up with one, but that one didnt work.

seeing that last time i went to the track i got pulled over for being in the carpool lane on the way there(just 2 seconds to pass a car, 350 buck fine) then on the way home alt died(2 hour tow, 150), im kinda seeing this setback as a omen not to go. if something went bad i have no wheel lock to get the tires off so id be screwed another 150 for towing. #### that.

No DSMs showed up by the way. One guy from the EVOtuners site came out though with his EVO. Cool guy. It's too bad too, because it was fairly empty. You guys would have gotten your money's worth.

I got in a good 10-15 runs or so, then the car started misfiring so I parked it for the last hour. I could have run 20 times if that weren't the case. All my runs were at 16psi. I dumped in some 100 octane at the track and turned up the boost to 18 (half way through the run) and ran a 12.7@109. The next run it started misfiring. I think the coil-on-plug setup was arcing. I wasn't able to get a full run on 20-22psi like I was planning. My best 60 foot time was a high 1.8, so I'm very excited about the potential. There's a little room for improvement on that, not to mention I have 5-6psi to play with and some more tuning to do. I wish it wasn't misfiring. It would have been nice to pull out a low 12 or high 11.

I plan on going out at least once more in the next 2 months. It would be nice to see some DSMers out there.

yeah trust me, thursday night i was shitting bricks cause i couldnt go. dam star lock lug thingies.

im suprised no sac dsm guys went. man if i lived a half hour away from a track id be there every day. but no, closest track i gotta drive almost 2 hours.

though i hear atwater is getting a full track facility, a oval, road race, and 1/4 mile. best of all, its only 30 mins away.

we should plan for one sometime in july.
