OK just a few pics showing progress.
And yes, I did cut a 2 1/2" swath out of the bottom of the bumper to get the IC to fit like I wanted it too.

Other is just some other parts.. nothing major....
T4/T3 hair dryer
some 2.5" IC pipes
couplers
tires
RC 750 injectors
custom modded panels...

You know the usual. :D LOL! ROFL

Dual battery setup?! Sweet! :thumb:

LOL, just kidding. :p

Nice toys indeed. Especially your hair-dryer.

I love how you re-did your center console for switchgear - very no-nonsense racecar looking. What are they for, if you don't mind me asking?

I think my wife is letting me get away with putting car parts and other of my projects in the living room only because we currently live in an apartment. :nono: With the house we're getting, I think the luxury of sitting comfortably in the living room while working on projects is going to be a thing of the past, and I'll be either down in the basement, either on the workbench or in my "man room," or out in the garage.

Huh.... Why am I complaining? I'm finally getting a full workbench and a man room!!!!! :rocks:

I am, and always have been function over form. Just try to make it look nice... :D
The 3 silver disc plates go to boost adjusters (they do have black bolts with lock nuts on them). Each is completely adjustable on the fly. There will also be an LED indicator under the two right hand ones to indicate which selinoid is active (Med/High Boost).
The hooded switch... if you have to ask...

Absolutely nothing, for now anyways. LOL! ROFL

Just to scare a few kids before they even think about it... :nono: don't want none of this you stinkin honda... :talon: power inside this baby :thumb:

You didnt get that turbo from ssautochrome/xspower did you? (the housing looks like one of theirs)
Uh.. no.
Though I did have a SS manifold about a year ago, read up on them and resold it on ebay for the same amount... :D :thumb:

I bought it in pieces and built/rebuilt myself and sent it out for balancing.
Spins like butter.

Way cool. :thumb:

Hey, no worries - as my good budy always says (of me), I love d'em switches! I've got a row lined up across the base of the shifter on my 2G, just under the double-DIN cut out. One as a master for my radar detector and laser jammer combo, one to switch off my only neon (interior accent string that outlines the power window/lock switchgear, as they're not lit) on the passenger's side so as to not annoy my wifey, and a third for a three-spot aux. input.

I've already got a spot picked out for master arm, the day that I (eventually I wish  ) get nitrous. And there's a good spot for a dual-stage boost-controller, too, when I am ready to move on to another turbo and a higher-powered setup...w/FWD, I'll need it. :coy:

ROFL. ROFL I've actually got an external click-on/click-off switch on the dash, in place of the "blank switch spot" on 2Gs, that's used for my horn button (the click-on/click-off is great for when you just want to leave the horn BLARING while retaining two-handed control of the car :sneaky: ). It's painted fluorescent orange as an "oh-shit" reminder, and also lit with a small amber LED at night. I can't count the number of times that people - even other car nuts - have asked me "Gosh, is that nitrous!?!?"

:p

I decided to get sneaky today...
I painted the IC flat black...
Though the IC couplers and pipes will still be semi visable... just got to know what to look for before the challenge... LOL! :D
Going to start on the bumper cover cutting and IC pipes tomarrow.

Well I actually got the engine on the engine mounts today.
Dodging the thunderstorms I managed to get out the lift and the thing lined up pretty quick before it opened back up.

Just another step closer. :D :thumb:

Still waiting for this damn cometic HG though... 2 1/2 weeks and nothing...
I really hate it when you call a shop about the item being late and they offer a refund before they know the situation. Uh no, I just felt like placing the order for $hits and giggles, of course I don't want it... WTF? If I ordered it, I WANT IT. SEND ME THE DAMN THING FOR CHRIST' SAKES!

Afterall it is kinda hard to do the exhaust and IC/WG pipes without the head on...

Will painting the intercooler reduce any of its cooling ability? I was gonna send mine out to get anodized black but if the paint won't have an affect on the cooling I'll just use paint cause it'll be cheaper.

I do not imagine it will, paint is very thin. Anodized coating is just about as thin.

You just have to do it in many many LIGHT coats. Hell I have sratched through it (the paint) just brushing a fingernail over an end tank...

If you get paint all over everything, I imagine it will harm the performance a noticable amount. However, you will most likely only paint the front of the cooler, and not the fins. This is where most of the visable area is of course, and will not effect cooling at all. I would just tape the fins off and spray the tubes themselves, and then brush the paint carefully just on the leading edge of the fin.

I dont think it would make that much of a difference. But it would be better to have no paint at all on it.

Somewhere on here, I belive one of the shops tested a intercooler with painy, and one without, and it came to the same exact spec with no differences what so ever.

I cannot see a 1/100th of an inch layer of paint making a big differance, or any at all really.

I really would not have minded that much to leave it unpainted, but I am putting a mesh grill in front of it anyway to protect it from these hill billy rock throwing trucks. So I figured, hell not really gonna see it anyway so go ahead and make it invisible to non knowers.

I think outside of C'Dale (SIUC) this will be like 1 of 4 (if that many) turbo's, much less BUILT ones... hell maybe 1 of 8 in the region, including C'Dale.
