sounds hungry! :sneaky:

morrism,

Keep us updated on the numbers. really interested on what this can do on a 2g! really debating this turbo vs. the PTEscm50. Garrett = cheaper :D

1029TSG,

Nice vid and congrats on the numbers. good stuff :thumb:

Thanks, anxious to try out the high pressure actuator and maybe a little race gas.

That thing would be pretty sick with an EMS, an intake manifold, and some race gas.

This definitely encourages me to get my car running sooner, as the starts of my modlist are almost identical to that car (V-trim, 2G exhaust mani, 2G MAS, 255LPH/FPR, and [coming soon] a 3'' turbo-back.) If I can hit 320WHP, I will be a happy camper (right before my stock clutch and jacked up transmission explode.) :D

Is he running on the stock head bolts?

I'm all for the race gas 28-30 psi and some sort of timing controller, but thats all up to the owner. He's got a set of ARP's on it with a stock head gasket.

man having boost leaks must make a huge difference now knowing i have major ones

i would love to make that power, there's a certain cammed SS in town that wants to run me for some good scratch...if i can make 350whp+ I should be able to make some good money

damn leaks...damn stock cams

im takin the cat out, got my 3" intake now, fixing my leaks and gonna run it on the dyno on meth injection :thumb:

Im very impressed with what this turbo did at 24psi, congrats :thumb:

Yeah, ARP's are definitely something I'm going to have to invest in....

That car definitely has even more room to grow on that 2.0L, if Rocky decided to. Does he post around here or anything?

I'm damn impressed with what the thing pulled at a measily 10PSI. At LESS THAN FACTORY BOOST, it's flowing enough air for more than an extra 100WHP. That's pretty crazy for a $670 bolt-on turbo.

He's on tuners and he'll likely show up at one point. I was a little surprised too since we've never tested any turbo set that low. Of course it is rated at 48 lbs/min compared to the factory turbo at like 33. It also has a large inducer so it's designed to move alot of air at low to mid boost ranges. No one has ever questioned its a great price just wasn't sure how it stacked up in the real world till now.

Exactly. Some have mentioned that the T04B might be a little dated compared to the T04E, but I think this proves that the B still has a lot of potential.

I was betting on the turbo being decent because of other full Garrett T04B V-trim setups I'd found on the net putting out good numbers - it looks like it was probably a good descision. :D

You're right, most people dont realize the V-trim is very popular in other markets, i.e. Honda. Can't knock it till you've tried it.

WTF  :thumb:

NICE! But someone beat me to the challenge :( Ah well. It's going to be tough to match that on my awd, but I'm hoping I can post a nice quartermile time after I'm done tuning it :) Congratz David & Rocky.

i plan on swapping in my vtrim on friday but i was wondering if i can run the vtrim at 10psi on the 450's? that is until my dsmlink and 850's come in hopefuly this week, but the kid buying the turbo on the car now wants it very soon. can i run 10 psi with the vtrim w/o hurting anything?

Only some sort of logger will truly tell you this. If you don't go around punching the car for the few days your on stock injectors, I'd say you'd be "OK".

Speaking of spool-time on the TO4B, I hit full boost (20psi) right under 4000rpms. I think I read a few other people claiming the same.

I was watching the dyno vid again of Rocky, and I noticed that he was building boost almost throughout the entire RPM range. Looks more like boost creep or just a really sluggish MBC. Regardless, it's still good numbers. :thumb:
