Hey guys,
currently i have a towel over my battery terminal becuase it hits the hood, most DSM's seem to have this.

I was wondering if anyone knew where to get covers for the terminals or how to solve this problem but have it look nice( i like a clean engine bay)

Dealer or junkyard, and probably the parts store. Is your battery tied down well? Is it the wrong size? They shouldn't really get close enough to hit, but yes, covering it is still critical.

I had a hood short i while back and it fried my battery terminal so i had a new one put on, then my ecu went bad a while later and i just got a new one put in and then when i was driving it i got a cel the first day i got it back. So i was taking my friend home then to autozone, then to the mechanic and my car died. The mechanic said that my ecu getting fried was either caused by my system drawing too much current from the alt (60 amsp of current) or my pos terminal melting had caused one of my wires to melt and short out or grounding somewhere where it is not supposed to be and thats what i was thinking it was, but i was wondering if this was something that could happen or has happend to someone before. I posted this somewhere before and didnt get a response. Lol i've posted like 1000000 times in the past 2 days and my car is driving me crazy, but for some reason i still love it, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

All I can think of is a bad ground drawing all the power; hence why your getting a lot of current draws which in return is frying stuff. (And does the battery ever die?) I could be wrong… just giving you my .02

Naw the battery hasnt died yet, and nothings been messing up except the ecu as far as i kno, and thanks for the reply.

np, Did you get the ecu from a junk yard ? Cause maybe it just went bad... if you got that kind of luck

Yeah that is very likely a possibility, but almost the same thing happen with my other ecu. No i got it from some parts guy around here but that doesnt mean he didnt get it from a junk yard, but he also gaurenteed it for like 3 months i think so if it was then i'll get a new one. Hopefully it will be something stupid but thanks.

well guys yesterday was a horrible day, here is the story:
i was going to a friends house and on my way my car just shut off for like 5 sec and turned back on? i figured maybe loose termnal i finally arrived checked battery and was fine i thought maybe casue i was vented or something. so anyways i am in the house for about 2 hrs then i am ready to leave for work so i go to look at my car and its smoken i was like holy shit, so i callled 911 told them my car was on fire and close to the house..... i looked again and it was on flames like 20 ft flames on ####en believle so it took the damm fire people like 20 min to come and they put it out, and the pic speak for themseleves, how this happened idk i am thinking electrical casue i have the greddy E man, and the bad news is i dont have colliosion, or compresion so i dont get a dime back.i just bought the car 3 weeks ago i had a gsx auto switched to 5spd and damm i am so pissed i cant do anything so i am ####ed what a day and to make it worse, me and my dad were going home and tow truck guying following us and we hit a deer not bad but my dad needs new door, and the tow truck man got stuck in my yard casue its muddy

I was just wondering too, can anything be salvaged at all? Or is it totalled RIGHT off?

That really sucks man!! I would of cried. To think I was pissed cause I dented a rim. Is anything in the engine bay salvageable?

I had a flame out the tailpipe when I was first dialing in the 1680's on alcohol..... 10mins later it was idleing and running fine and not making smores...

My non gear head freinds were like holy shit your car is on fire... My ASE buddies were like umm give him a minute..

New dash... CF hood... New engine... Really rebuild Etc

Its easier to salvage that then a hard unibody hit.... Alot easier...

Even a stock hood from a RS-GS..... from a yard etc.... But CF you could get away with not painting it...

i have the stock hood in my house, but i neeed alot more then a engine clutch, everything in engine is gone is it possible ?

How are the wheels and tires?? Let me know, sorry about your ride. That would make me and at the same time.
