I was wondering about upgrading the fuel system. Specifically if there's a certain order in which you should upgrade. ie pump, regulator, injectors, etc. I keep reading that with a higher flowing pump, the regulator will be overrun or pressure will be too high. I'm kinda lost at this point. Thanks for any help.

Get a pump, and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator at first.

Once those are installed (at the same time), get injectors and something to control them with (SAFC, DSMLink).

Depending on what turbo at what boost can determine your fuel system path.
1) First would be a Fuel Pump.
You can install a 225lph pump and smaller with out a fuel pressure regulator. A 255lph pump would require a fuel pressure regulator to run correctly.
2) Some sort of fuel tuning and logging system. (i.e. AFC + Logger, E-manage, Dsmlink, MAF translator)
if you want to add injectors, you will need to lean them out with an AFC or what not to run correctly. The ecu has pre-programmed fuel curves that it runs. A fuel system tuner will trick the ecu into thinking there is less air coming into the intake in order to compinsate for the extra fuel from the injectors.
3)Injectors are turbo specific....550's are easy to tune but only work for smaller turbos.
4)If you get real hardcore, high pressure SS fuel lines and a fuel rail.

Now this is my opinion based on all the threads i've read, the shops i have gone to, the people i have talked to and personal experience.

Hope this helps,
Bryan Tracy

When the FPR is put on, are there instructions on what psi to set it to or is there some sort of mathematical formula to use? Or is it (God forbid) guess and check?

You should get a fiel pressure gaauge (should have added that) and mount it on the FPR. The stock setting is 43psi i believe. So you will need to adjust the regulator till the gauge reads 43.

How big of injectors can you use with a 190lph walbro? I'm running a big t-28 on it and I probably won't get any bigger anytime soon. Are Denso 660's ok with a 190lph fuel pump? I just want to make sure again that I don't need a FPR for this size pump, right? I just wanna get all the injectors same time as dsmlink.
