during the hurricane weather the other day my car hit what seemed like fuel cut a few times. It was like fuel cut sometimes, then hesitation/sputtering. It happened during different gears/rpms/boost levels. I spoke to slowboy and I guess Mike Huml's brother's car has the same affect from 2.01 MAFT in the rain. Nate from slowboy has an old MAFT (not sure what version) and he has never had any problems. Anyone else experience this? It has not happened since. No errors reported on logger.

setup:

3" mandrel turbo-back w/ no cat, evoIII manifold - 2g o2 housing, 14b turbo w/ 34mm flapper, 3" aluminum intake w/ 9" K&N cone, GM MAFT, SupraTT fuel pump rewired, aeromotive FPR & lines, 680cc injectors, pocketlogger - palm IIIc pda, Halman mbc, spearco frontmount, crushed bov, magnecore 8.5mm wires, 7es plugs

That's really weird...the same thing happened to me on friday also. I was like, what's going on here?? I mean, i'm not tuned and my car is running like crap since i've put the MAFT on, but the car cut out on me twice coming home from work that night. :thumbdown

I'm running my MAFT in Draw through ( an oddball I know ), and I don't have any problems in wet weather. I'm using the current version also. Maybe it's a Blow through setup issue/quark.

I had it happen to me in the draw through stage. I've since have it in the blow through.

Another common issue is when even days or weeks after driving in heavy rain, you still get this stumbling issue under boost. The FMIC is the lowest point in your intake piping, so water can accumulate there. At high airflow/boost, the fast moving air will carry some water through the piping to the sensor making the AFR go very rich. You can also see airflow signal shootup if you have access to it. This happend on a friends car coming back from the SO. A week later, he found a gallon of water in the FMIC ;) So if the problem isnt going away, check the piping and IC. (sidemount may have similar effect)

I dont know about rain, but after my car has sat overnight or over 6 hrs, I get a weird stutter at low throttle until it warms up. Maybe it's moisture related to. It's really annoying to stry and leave my house in the morning trying not to rev it too much and piss off the neighbors yet not stutter out in my driveway. I figured it was just a qwerk of the 3" GM MAF.

It is moisture hitting the maf sensor I get it but I run 30-34 PSI all the time so after 5-10 minutes of driving all the water is gone and its business as usual.

I doubt snow has any effect, since the moisture is trapped in the snow flakes and not free to hit the sensor, but I'm no meteorologist.
