Ok if yal havent seen the specs on my car now is the time to do it.

I plan on using my car as a daily driver with a bi-monthly road race /auto -x action goign on. Minimal drag but I will do it.

I want to keep my 14b but will more than likely upgrade to a big 16g. We have a local shop that does the ACT-2600 cluth kits for $299 shipped so im ready to get this yesterday :) .

The guy asks me which set up i would like 6-puck, 4-puck or plain disc (i think).
he said he'll put me down for part # MB1-HDR4 and to just call him back with the one i need.

I was an SP in the Air force :thumbdown and my knees dont like alot of stress. The stock clutch is fine I just dont know how alot more added pressure will make them feel.

so basically my question is which set-up should I go with? I want it to be streetable and dont want to have to wear my knee brace to drive the dang thing.

Or should I just go with the ACt 2100

I want to know where you get these clutches for $300. OMG

It will go:
1) Street disc
2) 6 puck
3) 4 puck
... as far as engagement harshness (street disc being the least harsh). The 4 puck will chatter the most, but also hold up the best and grip the best when torque and RPMs are at their highest.

The pedal feel won't change between the discs since they're all the 2600lb pressure plate. The only thing that changes is the holding capacity and how the clutch engages.

Get the street disc. You do not want the puck disc unless you don't like your transmission. They chatter with the pedal in and engage harshly. I wouldn't recommend one on a daily driver. If you don't plan on going more than a 16g you could probably get away with a 2100, they're rated at 322 lb/ft which is more than enough for all but the most extreme 16g setups. There are other clutches out there also and one I've heard about that a lot of people really like that uses a stock disc but I can't think of the name right now, I believe AMS sells them. I have a 2100 and love it, barely stiffer than stock and grips hard, I may be switching to a 2600 soon since I will probably be moving up to a 50 trim soon.

Judging by your info I would say a 2100 with street disk. The pucked disk are for RACE CARS not street cars. They engage very harsh and chatter a good deal plus most of them dont have sprung hubs. If the biggest you plan on going is a 16G I would say a 2100 w/streetdisk. Your knee will thank you.

ACT also makes "Race" discs. Everyone thinks they have a race car, we don't think you do :) If you want a race disc (4 puck or 6 puck) call or e-mail and tell us why you want a broken tranny, heavy chatter, and extreme driveline noise. We will special order a "race" disc for you.

LOL, that's awesome. :D

you guys are awesome :thumb: so i guess i'll be getting the 2100 with the street disc.

oh i would post the shop that has the ACT's for 300 but the post will get locked :thumbdown.(thats whack) I'll get with you via message.

Oh and can anyone tell me why that is?

Yeah, Chris and the mods have all gotten hate-mail from the vendors that have gotten trashed, saying that the stuff being posted about them isn't fair.... same for the positive threads, it's hard to decide who's a legit customer and who's advertising their wares.

But yeah, if you could PM me that, I'd appreciate it.

I have one question.

Can i still do the 7k launches with the 2100?

I clicked on the link but it seems a lil deserted in there.

Is there no place on this site where i can speak about dealers?

The 2600 is going to add a lot force to your clutch pedal. The puck clutches will have a harsh engagement.

If you can handle the 2600 go for it, but just use the street Disc. Shep is using the street disc on his car and he's running 8 sec 1/4 miles.

I'm running a 2100 with a 6 puck, but my puck clutch has a sprung hub unlike the ones centerforce sell. I didn't want the harsh pedal, but good grip, so this is what I went with.

I got the ACT 2100 with the street disc for $329 shipped. The price i said before was for the 6 puck i believe.

thatnks again yall. And for now i have the 14b so dont think a 7k launch will hurt too much. :thumb:

7k launches and a clutch will be the least of yoru worries. You may want to make good friends with Shep cause you'll need it.

That site was just started because on alot of forum boards they dont want bad comments on vendors. To make it fair we dont want and news on vendors, good or bad, that way no one gets upset or says we are biased. Once more people use it it will become a valuable resource. It just takes time.
