Ok so were hanging around in burger king on 28 in manassas. This guy in a green 300zxTT that had an FMIC caught our eye. Seconds later he wants to run Liams Evo for $50. My Friend Liam (lDstang50) agreed to run this guy for $50. The dude with the 300ZX was almost certain that he was gonna beat the EVO..which i doubted.. So the guy in the 300zx TT started lowering his air in his tires and so on while Liam just sat in his car waiting for him to finish up. I could have swore i heard the guy with the 300zx TT cry about how he wanted to run the Evo from a roll... Well anyway, they finally ran after a few mins of cop trouble which they had to cool down due to cop alerts, the Evo and the 300ZX TT line up. Well the first run the Evo won by 1 car, this was without full boost.. The second time Liam (EVO) Turned the boost up some more and wasted the 300ZX TT by 3 cars. I dont know exactly what mods the 300zx TT had but as far as i know Liam (with the Evo) has an intake, catback, boost controller and some tuning. The guy with the 300zx, his friends recorded the race however none of us got a chance to get the video from them, im pretty sure they probably wouldnt even give us a copy of the video to avoid embarassment... Just thought id share this incredible race i witnessed and congratulations to my boy Liam on the victory.

PS. The race was approximately a 1/4.

Good job...but wise to stop at a 1/4 before the RWD and TTs do their job. My coworker with a JDM 91 ZX TT runs 600 rwhp and recently beat a JDM Evo VII from a stop and 2nd gear. Those cars have a ton of potential.

Looked like to me the EVO was pulling further and further ahead as the race went on during the second run. The first run was really close but a win is a win. But your right ive seen some 300zx TT get really nasty, expecially on highway runs or from a roll. But the races were from a stop and the guy with the 300zx TT was so certain hed still win..but he found out the hard way. Either way, Liam's Evo was clearly faster in the 1/4..no excuses. And i hope that guy will accept defeat and post the video up on dragva.com since he posts there.

It was close when Liam's boost was down.....but the 2nd run when he turned it up, he killed the 300.

oh and to let you all know, there is an integra gsr on base I/E/H that thinks he can beat me, from a launch. he wants to race me this friday for $50. i originally said $100 but he can't afford that. so long as i take money from him. i wasn't gonna run him, but he persisted that he could take me. i looked under his hood, no turbo, no bottle, stock head. this is gonna be a joke. should i even turn on the boost controller

Hey Liam Your welcome, Are you serious about the integra?? Man i was right about how cocky most (not all) GSR owners are. If this guy thinks he can beat you with the mods he has, than obviously something is wrong with him. I still say turn on the boost controller and make him feel like the biggest ass in the world.

This is seeming like a "friends in the area" chat and not a "public chat". If there was a vid posted we could honestly see what happened and why we should be in the conversation.

But honestly if his car is highly modified I think you should run him from a roll also. He ran you from a stop in basically "your field" of expertiese so run him from a roll. Kill the excuses.

even though it's a joke... i'd run high boost.. you never know what will happen, my last race the flagger flagged too quick so i couldn't hit the stutterbox and my launch was terrible.. and there's always the chance of breaking something or missing a gear, you want to be able to have the power there to stay ahead if anything goes wrong or in case some slicks magically appear on his car that night... if you're gonna sandbag do it using throttle not high/low boost settings, easier that way if you get good at it

nice kill on the 300zx , i only know him from DragVa but he seemed like a cool guy on there, hopefully we can get the video

DSMs seem to be laying the smackdown hard in our area lately... i've put down 4 V8s in the last 2 weeks, and Liam seems to own route 28.. starting out the season good

umm find out the mods on this 300zxTT. I know with basic stuff they sit around 350whp and they are great from a roll.

a one with a fmic better have the stuff to back it. so it could easly be seeing 360rwhp which im sorry would do you in from a roll. BUt none the less good kill and an easy 50bucks.

from a roll is irrelavent.. if you have testacles you race from a stop

even a 360hp Z i'd put my money on Liam.. a 12.5 car that's 2wd is a 13.0-13.5 car on the street.

same here, but what you are failing to notice and i assume its from you lack of Z knowlege is that the 300zx was never intended to be a drag car. Nissan made the car a anti squat car. The rear of that car will not sqaut at all. No weight trasfter on a rwd car with alot of HP = no traction and wheel hop which is what the Z does. You can get subframe spacers to help but still is not good. Also those cars are ment to go from a roll.

and i agree racing from a stop is a real race but when i race i like to let the other car have all the advatange. Takes away any excuses when they loose. And i know i can eat cars out of the hole on the street to me makes for a uneventful race. Like i raced a c5 from a 40mph punch, why? i know id beat it from a stop. Nice work owning the Z-TT. That guy is a prick and is always talking about how his car can crush anything. Def need to see this video, and if your not on www.dragva.com yet, do it. I've gotten the heads up on so many local meets, and typically I'm one of two or three DSMs out there.

i will never give spots for a money race... it's dumb in my opinion.. why make yor car faster if you're just going to bracket race.. i never understood the idea, if you want to bracket race go to a track.. i won't argue the 300z was built for drag, but, this race was a drag race.. so that's what we're talking about.. "not built for drag" is an excuse.. "lost because of inferior traction ability" is a fact...

agreed, i only brought it up b/c you kind shot me down. I never took away from the kill, i just stated that if it was modded like i mentioned it would win from a roll. If your going to race for money then you should do what your car does best which is why they went from a stop and it was a real race. I was just stating a few faqs, so that other Z's are not underestimated b/c of this one.

Naw dude, I'm just bullshittin', nice kill! There are no TT 300Zs here, so I beat up on 350Zs instead. I've been on the DrgaVA forums a few times since I'm moving down there, but it seems to be more bullshit than anything else.
