Well said bro! The thing I hear the most about the Phantom Grip is, that it works for a while, but soon turns your tranny into a pile of mush. I haven't heard anything bad about the BM Tranny though; however, the Quaife is the way to go. Good choice, I envy you!Originally posted by IAMCLP1
Ok check this I only paid 800 for the lsd not a grand and about 350ish for the 2600...
Now for the other issue to address, I just got the car about 3 months ago (stock). I live in Chicago and right now it is -2 out side, with about 7-9 inches of snow on the ground. I was not about to put my suspension set up on in the middle of winter let alone my 18s to match it. I am going with the Tein Flex setup to match my lsd and the 2600. (One of the best suspension sets ups) Right now the turbo of choice is the g60-1 from SBR. Maybe the perfect turbo for my mods
So is it worth to spend $200 then blow the teeth on your diff. then have to redo your whole tranny? Those are just all inserts if you put to much power to something it is going to give it has no choice... then something is bound to snap Only a matter of time

!!
ya i know what it is, and ive helped alot of fwd cars put the power down, if i was fwd i would not go cheap and go right away with quafe lsd. not right away but when traction becomes a realy realy big deal, id rather spend some money for suspension and slicks first.
Its all preference. If you wanna take a short cut, then get a Phantom Grip. Some people like to do things right the first time and go with whats best. Others, may not have that money lying around, and thats understandable. But I don't see your point, just because DSM trannys aren't that strong, how does that mean spending the money on a Quaife is a bad idea? True, you have to do supporting mods to the trans, but that goes hand and hand with modding cars. Thats like telling someone not to get too big of a turbo because the "stock" motor can't handle it.Originally posted by fasteclipse1992
i dunno bout spending that kinda cash on a true lsd like quafe on a tranny that cant handle over 3-400 hp anyways unless u have a race built tranny. if the diff dont break the tranny or somthin else down the driveline will if u put alot of hp behind it.

shit, another yayhoo who thinks unless its the most expensive and ABSOLUTLY BEST its crap..
What the #### is a yayhoo? I didn't call you a name or judge you, so why make ussumptions about me? You don't know me at all, I don't think just because it's expensive it's the best. You got me there!Just because I wouldn't put a Phantom Grip in my car is no reason for you to cry about this. Besides, your one of the only people i've ever heard who recomends a Phantom Grip over a Quaife or Kaaz, but hey...im sure everyone else is wrong.
